is this a good indicator for mining gld also? or is the hardware for this totally different?

I was thinking, some sort of affiliate program. For example, if anyone refers a friend who downloads the goldcoin wallet they get 5 GLD for their work and the new member also 5 GLD as promotion? Just an idea...
