Goldcoin Exchanges
« on: November 15, 2014, 11:19:54 AM »
So is Cryptsy the only well know exchange trading Goldcoin at this moment? Is there currently any plans or negotiation with other exchanges? I think it is very important to be listed 'Only' on 'Good' exchanges so that people who trade and invest in Goldcoin feel confident to do so. Any thoughts of what exchanges we feel might be right for adding Goldcoin?

Currently, the only exchange where Goldcoin is traded is Cryptsy.com.

In the past, we've been traded at less-than-reliable exchanges, some of which closed and left with user's funds. I think having a second and third listing would be excellent for the currency's growth.

We'll probably need to see a little more volume before any other major exchanges take an interest in Goldcoin. I suspect the SA conference coupled with the new client release will help in that department.

Perhaps an early December campaign of lobbying exchanges for a listing would be a good idea.

Yeh a december campaign would fit nicely, im happy to contact some exchanges when we agree on which ones are suitable. I have read some previous posts about bter exchange etc, i think a chinese exchange is always going to be a big deal and it would be nice to get goldcoin listed for at least a chinese market. If we could put some exchanges forward what we think would be ideal for goldcoin then please do so. Thanks

I think a Chinese exchange is a good idea. The main issue now is the vacuum of volume. Today, for example, we have only $172.00 in volume across three markets at Cryptsy. We probably need an average daily volume of around 2K to attract the interest of other exchanges.

We are once listed here: https://bittrex.com/ but lost the listing due to zero volume.

Yeh exchanges do like to see volume, when i think of work which you have all put in im very very sure the interest will only lead to more volume. What makes it so hard is when your trying to justify or promote a crypto currency to people who are so use to seeing so many other coins and most importantly seeing and only thinking Bitcoin is the answer to a survivng crypto currency it is always a challenge to show them the light of Goldcoin. However this is where the situation with regards to volume can change if we focus targeting new people to the world of digital currency and putting Goldcoin at the forefront of this. Using Goldcoin in such a confidence so that they will automatically refer  to it as their number one currency. With the conference in South Africa this totally explains what i am referring to and its so important, its good that it is happening soon. I will be studying the trade volume leading upto the conference and after it.

Excellent! :)

One other point that I forgot to mention is the infamous Cryptsy cold storage wallet.

Most traders have their Goldcoins parked at Cryptsy, which is evidenced by its massive cold-storage wallet. See the 9 million+ GLD wallet at this link: http://gld.cryptocoinexplorer.com/rich This means that we will probably not only need to get the volume up, but also once a new listing is established, there will need to be some incentive for people to migrate their coins to a new exchange, or otherwise use a new exchange.

Another factor, is the fake volume. Many coins use bots and multiple accounts to artificially inflate volume. They look at the tiny exchange fees as the cost of doing business. Competing with these shenanigans might demand some new inventive strategy or marketing effort.

I am very excited about what is happening in South Africa with GoldCoin and the conference. This is definitely something that can not only help GoldCoin over all, but really help make a difference in others lives. We are seeing history in the making! I will look forward to reading your future posts on your studying and other thoughts. Thank you.

Ok i have contacted BTER and Bittrex exchanges giving them valid reasons that the daily volume of Goldcoin on Cryptsy is beginning to pick up and Goldcoin is also out performing 50 of there lowest BTC volumed coins. I have had one brief reply back from bter saying 'thanks for your information' but i believe more emails to them from other members would also get the message accros. Here are some contact details for bter: [email protected], [email protected], also i feel that Goldcoin should be listed straight on there and not offered on their voting system as Goldcoin is way more advanced than that.

I have sent a request to BTER in the past.  I think that is their auto reply.  This is just one more reason we need volume to increase

Saw this post on the BitCoin talk thread to:
https://www.coinhills.com/market/gld/

It identifies another exchange GLD is listed on called 'TradeSatoshi'.
https://tradesatoshi.com/

Although the exchange is very low in overall trades, this was still something of a surprise.
