I have been mining all day with a 7870 on gld.cryptocoinmine.com, but my balance is still zero (0 GLD).

Code: [Select]
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gld.cryptocoinmine.com:6060 -u Stouse49.1 -p x -I 12 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8000 -w 256 --gpu-engine 1075 --gpu-memclock 1500 --lookup-gap 2 --expiry 1 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale -s 1
Does anyone else have this problem?  Because of this I switched to the VirCulPool (where I only got 98% profitability against BTC and 83% against LTC).  These results are not that good either.

I am now getting some GLD in my account (but only 2 GLD after 8 hours of 350 khash/s), after I stopped mining.  This must be due to the PPLNS.  I will check my profitability and switch to the PPS server.

I started Mining on the PPS pool (http://gldpps.cryptocoinmine.com/) with great success.  But then it was shut down today:

Quote
Due to lack of interest, I am shutting down the GoldCoin PPS pool

All balances have been paid out

I did get all my balances.

And the main site (http://gld.cryptocoinmine.com/index.php) says:

Quote
Due to a general lack of interest in CCM pools, All of them have been shut down except this one

I will be shutting down this pool later tonight and I will start paying any remaining balances immediately afterwards.

I was using these sites because the other pool VirCulPool has too much hashrate.  The CCM sites only had 4 people mining in each pool, perhaps not enough people to justify running the servers.

One person is running 31,380 KH/s on VirCur and someone had more than that yesterday when I was there.

I didn't even notice the PPS Pool http://gldpps.cryptocoinmine.com/ my bad.

If we could find someone within the community to manage it I am willing to buy the pool.

But why is dreamwatcher shutting down all GLD pools so suddenly and fast?

Dreamwatcher just posted here that he'll keep the pool open it there's enough community interest.

This is the plan  :)

I am going to shut down the proportional pool. There are other proportional pools out there and I would rather maintain one pool from each coin,as I add coins to the mine. After I finish the proportional pool final payouts, I will start working on the PPS pool.

I have a bug-fix I made for a seemingly random share counting bug. The pool software developers deny it exists, but tell that to the miners whose accounts got bitten by it. Unfortunately the fix might make the pool more vulnerable to the double manual payout bug that exists in all mmcFE based pools (unless fixed of course).

This means that I will not have manual payouts available on the pool. However I will increase the choice range of auto-payout to 1-1000. One can simulate a manual payout by simply lowering the threshold below the balance. Payout will occur in the next update cycle.

Cron timers are gone, instead updates and payouts trip when a new block comes on the network.

I believe the bug is happening when the cron update and a block is solved at almost the same time. I believe the share counting cron is setting its cut-off point and miners turning in valid shares at the exact wrong time, are getting shares orphaned behind the cut-off. Somehow this starts to effect all the shares the user turns in afterwards.

This was a RARE occurrence, but a pain in the arse when it happened. Expensive for me because I tend to send a inconvenience bonus out with payment to the miners bitten by this bug.

By basing the updates on when a new block comes on the network, and placing a small delay to the start up of the update jobs, gives miners a window to get their shares in before the cut-off.

Then I want to do a general clean-up of the server. I will then reset the PPS pool, and it will be up and running.
Sorry, re-registering will be required as I will update the pool software to the latest and I find to avoid problems, it is just easier to start with a clean database.

So after the proportional shuts down, the PPS pool should be back up in a couple of hours (maybe sooner).   :D

OK,

6 PM (CDT) today I will shut the proportional pool down, get final payouts done, clean up the server and get the PPS Pool back up again.

Time compare: It is 3:40 CDT now.

The GoldCoin CryptoCoin Mine  is now open.
Pool profits help fund CryptoCoin Explorer.

All pool donations will be given to the GoldCoin development fund.

For the first week there is a 25 GLD block finder bonus!!   :)

PPS (Pay-per-Share)

2.5%  Fee

You will need to register and an E-mail address is required. I do not use the e-mail addresses unless I need to contact you and for verification. It is the easiest way to verify I am in contact with the account holder.

On the subject of E-mail, the e-mail notification is not active yet. I need to see what my options are in terms of an SMTP relay. Setting up and using a local SMTP server, normally leads to bounced back e-mails due to white-listing and ISP spam protection.

Please enter a payout address and threshold. As a pool operator I am responsible for your coins that are in the pools wallets. If the hot wallet is lost/stolen, I have to replace it out of my own pocket. If I put too many coins in cold storage and a high balance miner decides to cash out, the hot wallet balance would be low or empty. This affects other miners that might want payout until I can refresh the wallet.

Manual payout is disabled in order to safeguard against a double withdrawal issue. Though this bug has been patched, I am running the update jobs in a new manor to solve a RARE share counting issue that pops up time to time. To simulate a manual payout, simply lower your auto-payout threshold below your balance. Your account will cash out in the next cycle.

Statistics are refreshed every minute. Share counting, payouts etc, are run every time a new block comes on the network.

I will be handling transferring donation amounts manually until I can add the little bit of code it will take to automate it and make it completely transparent .Within the next couple of days.

Pay-Per-Share:

The PPS reward system benefits miners small and large. Instead of competing for a percentage of the shares needed to solve a block, all shares are paid at a rate calculated with block reward and difficulty.

500 / (pow(2,32) * network difficulty) * pow(2,pool difficulty)

For simplicity the pool fee (2.5%) is deducted when then coins are credited to your account.

Mathematical breakdown of the PPS Formula:

Code: [Select]
500 / (pow(2,32) * network difficulty) * pow(2,pool difficulty)

The expression pow(2,32)  always equals (4294967296)

Current Network difficulty  is 2.0858

So the first half:
4294967296 *  2.0858 = 8958442789
500 /  8958442789 ~  .00000000558132715

That is the rate for the absolute lowest difficulty that can exist.

Pools and mining software do not operate with that low of a share difficulty. The network traffic would be unbelievable along with the overhead on both ends of trying to process that many shares.

The pool difficulty is set at 21 bits (or around difficulty 32 in Cgminer terms)

The expression pow(2,21)= 2097152

.00000000558132715 * 2097152 = 0.0117048913952768

This is the current PPS rate.
