According to this crash report, the Mac OS X version you have is 10.5 and the app doesn't support anything less than 10.6.

The crash report also looks like the application was "force quit" before it finished loading by the user based on previous experience.  Though it is possible that the app crashed on its own.

Db::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

I posted this on the bitcointalk.org forum as well:

This error indicates that the blockchain database files are corrupted.  You will need to delete them (~/Library/Application Support/Goldcoin (GLD)/blkindex.dat and blk*.dat) but DO NOT delete wallet.dat and the client can download the blockchain again once you started it up again.

Let me know if this works or doesn't make any sense at all.

Hello -
yes, i've tried that 4 times so far and same result everytime
along with that message it brings it a "quit unexpectedly" box also some of the time
shows the below msg:
GoldCoin-Qt quit unexpectedly.
Click Reopen to open the application again.
Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.

i have a couple dozen wallets on my system with zero issues on most;
for some reason this one really just will not boot up
** stumped here

Try renaming your wallet.dat to something else like wallet.dat.bak (also make sure it is backed up).

If the software doesn't crash and you see a zero balance (you should since you renamed your wallet and it created a new empty wallet), then that means your wallet.dat file is corrupted.

Though there could be another bug in the program.
