I just performed the upgrade and moved from the older edition to the new one, The process was quite smooth, After downloading the update aand installing it I didn't need to do anything, it did not need to sync again, also the balance and the private keys of the previous edition was displayed correctly ,did not need to do anything more or re-upload the private keys, Here you can see the new one home screen:
I tried sending some coins with the new edition, was quite smooth as you can see, better graphics and the complete functionality:
I received some coins and they where reflected immediately on my balance, no abnormalities here:

Overall, I think the new update is a big success, it did not interfere with the previous functionality in anyway, it did add a new graphical aspect to the app as well as easier and more efficient sending/receiving. I did not need to import my private keys for it to work again, everything worked immediately "although you should have a copy of your private keys ready anyway".
