Currency Exchange / Re: Offer to buy GLD for Paypal Payment
« on: February 06, 2014, 08:10:41 PM »
I really doubt you are going to get a deal done by offering under market price.

Actually the market price is really what a buyer and seller are willing to do a deal now for.

The exchanges market price usually takes into consideration lots of factors, what it last sold for, buy order,s sell orders, and volume, given the inactivity of the position the stated value is not reliable. Notwithstanding, isn't there other changes one must go through to convert GLD to fiat when dealing with an exchange?  Doesn't it have to be converted to a "major coin" then cashed out?   What happens when GLD is down and the "major coin" is up, you loose value there.  Is there any liquidity value -- there's no wait time for my funds.

I don't think any of that are real factors, I think everyone is waiting for the value to go higher, in the mean time inactivity is causing the value to go down.

I offered over exchange value price and I've offered under, yet the response is the same -- no deal.

I give up.

Currency Exchange / Offer to buy GLD for Paypal Payment

if you want GLD to rise it has to move, if you don't buy it or sell it the value will certainly go down

here's my offer:

5000 Gld for 100 USD via paypal

This offer is valid for 5 days or until accepted, or until my next offer is made.

This is a website that tracks all the various cryptocurrencies: http://com-http.us/

Wow, 240 coins and counting, this is going to be a collector's dream.

Marketplace / Re: Marketplace for GLD 2 fiat & fiat 2 GLD

the coin could certainly do with a dedicated exchange since the initial project seems to have hit the buffers: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=1840.0 - some good tips there as to what would be desirable from a user perspective.

but if you're thinking more 'marketplace' then http://localgoldcoin.com/ by @4daysmining looks to offer something similar.

anyway, it's good to hear of more interest in development and i'd be happy to assit with testing/feedback etc if and when required.

Wow, looks like my interest in GLD was birthed right at about the time of that site's demise -- virtual reincarnation?

From what I read (1st and last pg of thread) it was a joyful experience while it lasted.    Admittedly, my sights (sites) were not that high, not even as high as localcoinexchange,  I want to approach this from a position of organic seed-like growth.

What I mean by that is, I put out a simple message (the seed), people respond  conversations are had (seed nourished), a deal is struck (germination), feedback provided (visible sprout), referral made  (branch) ... a byproduct of that slow organic growth process is business sustaining atmospheric trust.

With that said I ask, what micro size deal are you comfortable doing?  If we come to a meeting of the minds it will be the first deal for this yet unnamed biz.

From my tiny introduction to cryptocoin I've learned that there are many road blocks to the growth and sustainability of many coins.

I'm seriously considering the creation of a micro marketplace -- 'a space' for direct GLD to fiat and fiat to GLD.   I'm thinking it must have various buy/sell rates connected to specific coin lot sizes: intro, retail, and wholesale.   The focus will be on doing micro-get-to-know-you deals until such time that both parties are comfortable doing bigger deals.

My question to you is what do you want to see there, what must the space have in order for you to feel comfortable visiting, trusting, and trading there?

Of course if all goes well other affordable coin will be included.

Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Where Are You ?

The experience still intrigued me to want to know how some of the coins went out of biz

I've drawn the conclusion that a coin's value is directly proportional to the quality of the community. Evolve the community and the coin thrives, devolve the community and the coin moves on to that vast crypto heaven in the sky.

Bitcoin is only 5, even if it was running in the red for the first 3 years you shouldn't consider letting it go before the 5th year, if it's a good idea.   I tried to find the list of failed coins on wiki and bitcoin talk but didn't find them, found some at bittalk but not the list a saw last week.

Could it have been a 'pump it and dump it' scheme or sort?

btw, if anyone is a wiki content contributor, here are a couple places where GoldCoin content could brighten the page:

Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Where Are You ?
« on: January 30, 2014, 09:41:58 AM »
thank you

During that perplexing time, I decided to research NXT in an effort to find out how they could 'disappear' like that, the assumption was that they went out of biz.

Although I'm glad to know that the coin is still alive, my findings were troubling, so much so that I removed it from my top 20 list.

The experience still intrigued me to want to know how some of the coins went out of biz -- that endeavor isn't at the top of the things to do list though.

thanks again

Wow, I see NXT one one day sitting high on all of the charts, then I see their price drop to the floor, now I don't see them -- what happened.

Did they byte the dust, are they reorganizing, or are my references weak?

I saw this:
"...  if you allow it, will use some of your spare CPU cycles in order to mine."  here: http://www.theopeneffect.com/freicoin/?done=1

and wondered if this could work for mining gold?

Altcoin Discussion / Netcoin, what's going on over there?

I noticed in on one exchange that Netcoin's chart has gone flat, anyone know what's going on over there?

According to this Wiki definition, Ripple is a payment system, currency exchange and remittance network.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripple_%28payment_protocol%29

I think the criticism came from the fact that the poster is new here, and, based on his activity does not seem to have any interest in Goldcoin which is the general focus of this website. The post was also originally (and incorrectly) submitted to the news section.

Its correct that I am pretty new here and a new crypto currency enthusiast. Found Goldcoin and forum a great place and wanted to discuss NoFiaCoin as this is perhaps only digital currency in the market which is backed by bullion. I hope I have created this thread in a proper place!

Would like to make an addition about Ripple....

Ripple is a bridge or universal translator between currencies. Ripple enable a user holding only BTC, LTC, NMC, or NoFiatCoin-XNF to make purchases from a vendor accepting only USD, EUR, or GBP. Cross-currency payments is a killer feature.

Due to an inaccurate and outdated attack campaign led by tradefortress, in favor of his vested interests, Ripple is widely misunderstood.

Lucky for everyone, the whole industry is new enough that all of the 'understandings' can be reshaped with little effort.

Bad news in the crypto biz just bring the value down artificially, just like good news brings it up artificially -- buy on bad news, sell on good news.

I could provide advertising on the faucet, gold as payment to fund the faucet seems like the best idea to me. What do you have in mind?

Oh, and yes... You can get seconds, thirds, etc... every 48 hours. Please keep in mind though this is for people looking to get into GoldCoin and those just starting out. It is meant to spread the word and educate.

How much time and space would $50. get me?
