The last two team meetings have been very productive. There are many, many moving parts now taking place in the build-out of Goldcoin.

Here are a few highlights:

Organizational Framework
A framework is being constructed that will separate the non-profit core (layer 1), from its business dealings (layer 2), and third party relationships (layer 3). The objective is to minimize conflicts of interest as it applies to core decision making.

The possibility of a constitution based on the principles set-forth in the Satoshi whitepaper is being explored.

DAS Adoption
The DAS organization within the United States, a group representing 21 million people, is in the process of adopting Goldcoin as its official digital currency.

MAC OS
Akumaburn is working on the release of an updated version of the Goldcoin Mac OS desktop software. He is hoping to have the binary ready for distribution within a few days.

Gold Club International
Goldcoin International is doing a series of radio shows and various other public promotions to gain market attention for Goldcoin throughout Nigeria.

New Android Application
Final testing is underway for our new Android application with expanded features such as an NGN exchange rate and pincode protection.

Business Development
Alfred Jordan is working on various business development (layer 2) which has the potential of funding the base operations of the non-profit core (layer 1).

Bittrex
After a two and 1/2 year hiatus, Goldcoin has returned to US-based exchange Bittrex. The word on the street is that Bittrex is looking to add USD soon. In addition, we feel that Bittrex is positioned to continue its dominance as a leading cryptocurrency exchange, and we think our users deserve access to the very best services available.

Block Explorer
The Goldcoin team believes that eliminating single points of failure by maintaining redundant network services is vital to our success. We are happy to announce that an additional block explorer has been secured that offers a variety of new features, including a robust API.

GoldClub Launch
Our friends at Gold Club International are only a few days away from their Mega Launch in Africa. This massive venture will expose thousands of new users to Goldcoin. Each member of the club will be awarded Goldcoin and have access to purchasing more using their native currency, the Naira.

Codebase Update (MAC OS)
Akumaburn has determined that the best route for supporting the Mac OS systems will be to upgrade the Goldcoin codebase. This will take some time as it will be a major upgrade to our current client and require a full testnet for development and bug checking. We currently anticipate this update to be released sometime in the fall of 2016.

Today was the best team meeting we've ever had! You can enjoy the highlights below. 

Here is a brief summary:

Android App Release
This week we hired a couple of professional techs to torture test the new Android release. There were only a couple of minor bugs discovered and they are being corrected now. The new updated app version will be hitting the Google Playstore sometime during the first of the week. The new app has many new features including a pincode to send option and a paper wallet sweeping function. The team would like to thank Stouse49 for his dedication and commitment to Goldcoin's mobile advancement.

Gold Club Launch
The official launch of Gold Club International will occur on September, 29th. The first phase will include Nigera with a broader roll-out to follow across central Africa. One of the main reasons for releasing the new Android app now was to provide the necessary tools for this grassroots initiative. The new app will feature live Goldcoin exchange rates available in NGN, the Nigerian Naira. Thank you Gilead for the excellent job you're doing across the Atlantic.

Healthy Volume
Over the past 48 hours, the currency has experienced increased volume levels. Our network hashrate has also continued to climb and is now at 1 GH/s. We anticipate that both of these metrics will continue to rise along with the price as the DAS community and Gold Club members expand their membership enrollment.

Bittrex Wallet Fixed
Richie and Akumaburn worked together this week to configure the Bittrex exchange wallet and solve the peer-connection issue. Since this time the Bittrex wallet has not skipped a beat. Thank you Richie and Akumaburn for your work is resolving this problem.

Retail Sales Booming
The website https://www.trygoldcoin.com is seeing record sales as the DAS continues to invest in its future. Dr G's community is by far the largest segment of our current retail audience and it's been through his efforts that we've seen a steadily rising market capitalization. We're going to make Goldcoin the #1 cryptocurrency on the planet and success will require this type of mass retail adoption.

Facebook Fanpage
Juan Pasos and I are working on a makeover of the Goldcoin Fanpage. The "Shop Now" button has been linked to Trygoldcoin.com and the header image has been updated. In addition, we have started an advertising campaign that will run for 7 days and blanket the St. Louis, Missouri area.

Chinese Project
Alfred is in discussions with a group of Chinese investors looking to build their own specialized blockchain. Part of our new business model is to offer blockchain consulting as a means of funding operations and core development. This is just one of many current Layer 2 projects currently being bid. Essentially, we are building our own community-owned Blockstream.

How To Android Video
This week I created a how-to video for using the new Android application. This 15-minute guide covers the installation and basic operation of the new GoldCoin Android app! This coming week I will be making a guide on how to buy GLD on Bittrex.



TryGoldcoin Website
The Trygoldcoin.com website has been updated with a new widget that makes it easier for users to login. We have also added Australia and UK to our list of supported countries on a test basis. September sales volume has already shattered the previous monthly record.

[October 30th, 2016 Highlights]

GoldCoin Developers Group (Layer 1)
The core group has been formally organized and federally registered under the name "GoldCoin Developers Group". The business is classified as a "community or volunteer group" and is a non-profit organization. This was necessary to allow the opening of bank accounts, obtaining various code signing certificates, SSL's, registration of domains, etc., etc.

Client Code Rebase
Our development team is rebasing the current client and incorporating all of the latest litecoin/bitcoin features. There will also be some fine tuning done to the Golden River difficulty algorithm. This rebase will increase client performance and allow us to fully support the latest versions of MAC OS.

Code Signing Certificate
With the popularity of GoldCoin on the rise, we are seeing an increase in the number of reports of antivirus software being triggered by the Windows client. A Thawte code signing certificate has been purchased and is being verified. This CSC should help reduce the number of false positives being seen in these antivirus applications.

Goldcoin Partners (Layer 2)
The for-profit company "GoldCoin Partners" has been established that will be used to protect and fund the core group. The company will provide blockchain consulting, software development, investment services, and market research. The proceeds from this business will be used to fund core operations, research, and development.
