need help urrgently

the lap top suddenly stop working..  computer shop said pc need formating.
the question is
if he did backup for the data before formate will the wallet also be backed up also and i will not lose the data
noted i dont have a back up file for the wallet.

Yes. If you have a complete system backup, you should have the required file.

The wallet information is stored in c:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\GoldCoin (GLD)\wallet.dat

The "appdata" directory is generally hidden. Google "how to find appdata folder" if you need help.

See if you can locate the file and report back.

I will see.. the shop says he will try to find a way to open the lap top without formating.. if not will asked to do full backup then will try it on other pc and see the result

You can also ask the shop to locate and backup this file.

the issue the screen is black.. nothing shows to open and backup the file seperattly.

If it's a computer shop they can take out the hard drive and try to access its data.

hard drive was taken.. and the file recoverd sucssufully..
