It's been a rocky road these past 8 years and most of the speed bumps have come from CEX exchange failures.
Here's a non-exhaustive list of exchanges that have either been hacked, closed, or decided to delist Goldcoin. Most often times resulting in the loss of funds to our community. There were around 6 million GLC lost during the Cryptsy hack alone.
- Altilly (hacked)
- Cryptsy (hacked)
- Bittrex (delisted then .25 BTC w/ fee.)
- C-CEX (hacked)
- Cryptopia (hacked)
- TradeSatoshi (closed)
- P2PB2B (delisted)
- CoinEX (hacked)
- Bter (hacked)
- Novaexchange (closed)
So today, we'll be moving away from antiquated CEX exchanges and upgrading exclusively to DEX (decentralized exchange). And we've selected
BlockDX to be our first DEX. This doesn't mean that GLC will never be listed again on a CEX, it just means our small team won't be chasing them.
There will be two primary challenges as we make this transition. First, Coinmarketcap and other index providers currently do no recognize BlockDX market price or volume. Secondly, it can be challenging for users to setup and configure their trading environments. The first problem will take care of itself mostly as DEX trading continues to grow in popularity.
For the second challenge, we're created a dedicated BlockDX support channel on our Discord server. Here, our developers along with members of the Blocknet community will help users in setting up their trading software.
Get started today using the links below:[Note:] We are only able to offer limited support in Telegram. Please use Discord whenever possible.Goldcoin is open-source community-based software. And exchanges don't have to ask our permission to list us. Likewise, anyone in our community is welcome to work on securing a listing with a CEX. But our entire focus and commitment moving forward will be to help pioneer the coming DEX revolution.
We are very excited about this new chapter in Goldcoin's history and thrilled to be at the forefront of this next chapter in cryptocurrency!
