[Network Update]A couple of years ago, we released client version 0.14.5 which included a fork upgrading our network from 2MB block to 32MB blocks.
Until recently, no one had mined a block larger than 2MB which meant older clients remained compatible with our network. However, someone mined a 5MB block at block 1430115.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/glc/block.dws?1430115.htm This caused a fork with older clients leaving the chain to follow the 2MB chain. That bad chain is alive because hash-to-coins didn’t upgrade from 0.14.4.
https://hash-to-coins.com/Our block explorer, local clients, network seeds, and checkpointing servers all passed the fork without any issue. However, we have received reports from a couple of users that 0.14.7 clients are not syncing with the network.
[Solution]If you are running the latest version of the Goldcoin desktop client and are unable to sync your client, there's an easy fix.
- Close the client.
- Download the following bootstrap file:
https://www.goldcoinproject.org/files/bootstrap_20210627.zip- Navigate to /users/<username>/appdata/roaming/goldcoin on your desktop machine.
- Delete the /blocks and /chainstate folders and replace them with the folders in the ZIP archive.
- Reopen your client.
