Physical goldcoins!

Hello, I am interested in making something like physical goldcoins.
You get like a 3d printout of the GoldCoin logo (maybe gold colored hard plastic). And attach like a 64 MB usb drive to it.
Inside the 64 MB usb drive would be a Wallet.dat with an encrypted wallet inside, then there would be a sticker on the physical goldcoin with the encryption password. Maybe a QR code aswell so people can scan your goldcoin and pay you.

The legailities inside the US currently don't suuport this type of operation unless you get the correct state/federal permits.  But I don't know much about the legality of what you are trying to do outside the US.

I am currently working with some coin developers to make a physical coin but I am not attaching any worth the avoid the legal situation all together.  Good luck with your project and let me know if you have any questions.  I am currently about 4 to 6 weeks away from receiving the first shipment

Its not coming pre loaded with coins on it.

Also, if coins are coming loaded on it i can sell it aslong as it isnt with paypal? right? or can i not sell it at all?

If you get the Physical Coins made in a hard material like Iron or a kind of metal.. Then I am VERY interested.
Just name a price pr coin, and we can take it from there!

If coins come loaded on it, then it becomes a murky situation, at least as far as I know.  I think legally speaking, those who sell physical coins (without applying for the necessary permits) open themselves to up to legal problems.

if you take a look at cascasius' website, he says that he has regulatory issues, so i guess you need some kind of license to sell physical coins.

maybe you could take a look at Lealana's work on LiteCoins. i also saw someone laser-hetching mirror to do some Feathercoins.

Correct, the legal issues (thus far) have been those who sell coins preloaded.

okay thanks, i wont sell any pre loaded and if i feel the need to ill look into getting the legal permits first.

Here is an example of a one place that is selling physical coins:  https://cryptovest.com/shop/.  They do not come preloaded.

I'm sorry I didn't save the link, but I thought I saw somewhere that said Ebay came out and said you are allowed to sell digital coins loaded now as long as its loaded on a usb drive?  I'll try and find where I crossed that or look on Ebay for it and post back.

Now just because Ebay allowed it that way doesnt necessarily mean it doesn't breach other legal issues, but I would tend to think in that regards they wouldn't allow it if it was illegal.  Such a slippery slope this is becoming.
