What will happen with your Coins?
« on: October 29, 2013, 01:38:19 PM »
I've been thinking, What would happen to my coins if something happened?

Now that the wife is home with me all the time because she retired. She keeps asking why I keep checking the coins (sites) and wants to know what I'm doing. I just tell her I'm making an investment to help us if and when we need it or our kids and grand kids will have some sort of back up currency if they need it. Just need too show everyone how it works etc.. That should be fun, they think I lost it LOL

I have different coins of course so I have a few wallets, coins on Cryptsy and shares of Cryptsy and no one in my family has any idea on how to access anything if anything ever happens to me.

So my question(s) is:

What if? Can someone get your coins or are they just going to sit on your PC on a site or how ever you store them?

Do you have any plans if something happens to you?

Certainly I have other family members into cryptos (including my partner), so yeah if something was to happen to me my partner can claim them.

I keep 90% of my crypto wealth offline, only have what I am wanting to trade online, there's no way I'd keep a significant amount on any exchange.

Time I know what wills are for. But most of my family has trouble using the net and some programs never mind telling them how to access the coins (Wallets), use Cryptsy etc. in a Will lol Kind of sounds dumb but there are people that don't use computers that much or even care to. And that's my family they don't get into PC's etc. because they could care less. Some of them use Facebook and I think that's about it. I tried showing my son how everything works, but he doesn't care about it. He just says "That's cool" and leaves it at that. No interest at all in GLD or any other coins. I don't want to leave the info with any lawyer or anything.

Guess I will just write down all of my passwords for the wallets, sites I visit, and my info for here that way they can ask for help. If they need it. Along with Step by Step instructions
1: Plug this into a PC
2: Open this
3: Enter this password
etc. etc.

Another solution might be to keep paper wallets in a place with other important documents (safety deposit box) along with instructions for accessing/cashing them.
