Title: VirCurPool
Post by: ipaint on June 08, 2013, 12:36:18 AM
Anyone know the owner of VirCurPool? I'd like to find out if or when it's been updated.  Seeing it hasn't been updated I don't even know if the block I found on there will count.

Myself I like pools that count your shares/coins and you can request them and send them anyplace you want.  I think a Pay-Per-Share pool, something  like litecoinpool would be good if anyone is going to setup a new one.

I am not sure what you mean by GLDCoin VirCurPool not updating.

We must remember that this site requires 120 confirmations before a block is paid out to the miners.  The GLDCoin client requires the same.  Considering that only 20 blocks are mined a day, it will take one week for you to get your coins.

If you are a member of this pool, like me, you can go to this page:  http://gld.vircurpool.com/blocksAuth and find that the last block that was fully confirmed was on June 1, 2013 (1 week ago).

I have been checking this site every few hours or days and find that my account balance is increasing.

Unless something else is wrong with their site, I would expect that you will get your rewards, all be it slowly until Block 21,000 is solved.  After that it should run quickly again (with a 5 hour expected wait time).

I'm just going by what was posted on two other forums.

"seems like vircurpool still hasn't updated the new GLDCoin binary's, and therefore you can get behind of the blockchain which causes mining on blocks which have already been solved. This means that a lot of shares will NOT be paid out. I advice you to use any of the other pools until they have updated their binary's."

That's what's posted on one of them. If it working great I'll go back and use it. I just don't want to mine in a pool and not have it count.

Oh, that is definitely a bigger issue that what I had thought "updating" meant.

To return to the original point, I do not know the owner and there appears to be no contact information on the site itself.

We better get our coins out before the hard fork, if it isn't look late already.

I just visited the link you posted. It's showing I found Block 20,816. If you click on it, it's showing I found 50 BTC (Total BTC?: 50) Unless the script hasn't been updated for GLD. And the  Round Shares are always updating. It's been displaying this for a few days " Round Shares Pool Valid: Updating..." it never seems to update. I wish the owner would update the site and get it working or someone else open a pool something  like it.
