I can feel it.
It's going to take time but I'm sure we can get there.
The name is so strong.
One of my goals will be to acquire the domain name www.goldcoin.com
I wonder if casino dot net will be up for selling it?

Perhaps they could partner with us and use GoldCoins in their gambling.
Also, you may want to look into getting Gold bullion suppliers to give out GoldCoins as a promotion.

Maybe Bitcoin will need to be a bit more mainstream for this to work.
That way the Gold bullion supplier will have a much better idea of the potential value of Goldcoin.
However, this is a great idea and one that I will take a shot at.
Perhaps the gold bullion supplier does not have to give them away for free, he could give them a loaded GLD card that costs $1 per 100, that will give them an extra bit of perceived value.
Bullion supplier says to client "We're running a promotional offer today of 100 GLDcoin (the digital currency) for $1"
Client "What's that?"
Bullion supplier "It's just like Bitcoin, and you know how much they are worth"
Client "Yeah I heard they are worth $10000 each"
Bullion supplier "So would you be interested in some goldcoin while they are cheap, we got them in card format, you don't have to be computer savy?"
Client "Ok, how many have you got?"
Bullion supplier "50 preloaded cards atm of 100 goldcoin for $1 each"
Client "I'll take all of them!"
Bullion supplier "I'm afraid it's reserved as one card per client but if you want to get more, there is a link to the gldcoin website on the card where you can purchase as many as you like (while they are available"

I sent an email (without mentioning goldcoin) to the owners of the domain to find out how much they want for it.
So far, no response.

For the simple fact there is an Android Wallet already gives me hope. One of the main problems I have with other alt-coins is there are not good mobile wallets available which make it difficult to get any trading done while I am out and about running errands :)

i will set up an account at safenames and try to make a deal on the domain name. I might have to sign up after work today.

i am now waiting for someone from safenames to phone me back, the first guy I talked with said it might be an expensive domain not just $200 or $300 so i guess we will wait and see what they have to say.

I am on that forum also and think I posted there. Having just recently gotten into cryptocurrency, I am really excited about the potential of Goldcoin also.
I had a marketing idea that may be good (or not). Approach Youtube channels (or podcasts etc.) that have a decent amount of subscribers and try to encourage them to accept Goldcoin tips. Their audience would be exposed to Goldcoins and want to support the artist (and hopefully mine or trade for Goldcoins to tip). The 'Tubers' would obviously love receiving tips and it's kind of reminiscent of throwing a few coins in the hat of a street performer -- it doesn't feel like begging . Could be win-win.

Yeah I saw that post you made! I was like f**k somebody on the fastlane forum already knows about Goldcoin! ;D
I agree we should approach popular youtube channels.
If only there was a really easy way to buy GLD, direct with a credit card or paypal.
Today I'm going to ask some people from the fastlane forum if they want some extra publicity by placing a 'we accept goldcoin" logo on their website.

It is my opinion that a lot of coins that have been riding the coat tails of Bitcoin will start to level out and the best coins will start to rise to the top. I think that all the new money that is coming in is just blindly buying different coins. Now we really need to be doing all that we can to separate GoldCoin from the rest and moving up the list. I feel that this is a very important time for GoldCoin. Hopefully we can get some smooth sailing from the mining ect. IT IS GOLDS TIME!!!

I agree with this. If you see all the alt coins, it doesn't matter what it is... it's going up because the big guys (bitcoin/litecoin) are going up with increased media coverage. I'm not sure when that tapering will occur since people in the bitcoin world is looking at $5000+ all the way to a $million and litecoin is looking at 1/4 of bitcoin's value.
All that goldcoin needs to do is get at least top 5 and get a lot of media coverage. Then we have to work with vendors to start accepting goldcoins for goods.
It's going to take a little bit to get there, but we all have to work towards it!

I may put up a thing to accept GLD donations on my site that gets about 10 unique visitors a day (not much)
but mainly its to raise awareness of GLD.
