Title: Only 35-50 KH/s with cpuminer?
Post by: patricbr on November 20, 2013, 04:47:52 PM
Hi,

I just started mining Goldcoins on gld.dencoinpools.com
I am mining on my dedicated server, and only getting about 35-50 KH/s

This is my server: http://www.server4you.com/dedicated-server/server-vergleich.php?server=PlusPOWER
AMD Opteron™ 8x 2.3 GHz

Is this a normal speed? What could i do to make it faster?

Kind regards,
Patrick (patricbr)

This looks like a normal speed for CPU mining. If you want more speed you could get a 7950 GPU.  :)

Thank you for your quick reply...

What kind of speed am i looking at with a  a 7950 GPU?
Maybe even a estimate on how much Goldcoins per day?

With a properly tuned 7950 you can expect something in the range of 600 KH/s. The number of coins varies greatly depending on difficulty. The last time I checked you would receive around 700 GLD per day.

I see that there are 3 different 7950's
What is the best one?

There is a lot of information about this on the Internet. I think different people like different models. The main thing is to make sure your case can accommodate it and that your PSU is sufficient to power the card.

Out of those three I personally would go with the Sapphire HD7950 Boost for that extra power. But here is a link for more information on the hardware you could use: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison (https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison)
