Well I see the problem all over the pools and I cant explain it maybe someone with more expertise can ?

When will this stabilize? Everything for the last 9 hours has been orphaned?
Wont the difficulty be adjusted a bit smoother then letting everyone run it straight into the wall, then difficulty adjusts really slow and noone can mine anything? Perhaps a small flaw in the design?

This design is making GLD mining unappealing at this point. Maybe I should switch to other crypto.

Mee too. I just gave up. I mined for 12 hours and earned 12 GLD to have fun with. This system repels rapid miner investment by design. It will consequently die because what gives value to the currency at birth is the trust and investment by miners, not the scarcity of the coin. Other cheap altcoins will keep the price of a rare, unsupported coin low.

As I understand it, the protocol rewards those that stick with mining gold for longer periods. It is specifically designed to discourage ship jumping. Opportunistic miners with no real commitment will be weeded out.
It sounds like some weeds just got removed.

So I'm a weed because I decided to mine GLD? I chose GLD because it looks the most promising out of the many, many alt coins out there now. If I must mine for a while so be it, I shall. Thank you for the advice.

I don't think any offense was meant.
Good decision to stick to Goldcoin, it's definately one of the most underated coins (which makes it the best to get into now because it's time will come).

As GoldCoin supporters we will be rewarded in the end. The system works exactly as it supposed to do.
See it like real Gold miners who are mining all day long and sometimes get rewarded with Gold and sometimes they dont find anything.

If you do not see how wrong this statement is, when pool operators and miners that have been around for a long time are having major issues...
So has it not always been like this? When will it stable out? Any estimates?

I maybe new and you probably know a hell of a lot more than me, but I know that something isn't right. 4 hours. All orphans. Sound right? I understand that it may take a while to find a block, but by when that block confirms that will be 1 coin, because I do enough in a round for a coin.

I think we need to be patience. The only problem we are having is the number of orphanes on the pools. The pools and some miners arent used to this new security and finding it hard to adapt to it.

How long will this adaptation take? How long is a string I suppose would be a better question. Anyways, when do you think this whole situation will stabilize, if ever?

You seem to be asking with earnestness. I would PM akumaburn the lead DEV to get his thoughts. He can also give you hints on how best to get the most GLD.

For any other miners or pool operators reading this, some of us that have been around a long while take it personally when the coin is criticized. We feel the developers have worked their tails off to bring something new to the crypto world. It is different and it takes some getting use to.
Before making disparaging remarks, please read all of what akumaburn has posted and PM him directly . I am sorry that the coin is unfamiliar but making negative comments is just counter productive and makes those of us dedicated to the coin angry.

Also, as GoldCoin moves up in value, and you continue to be a dedicated miner, I don't think you'll see it as a disadvantage at all when newcomers come aboard with extreme hash rates and aren't able to mine as many coins as you.

But how will newcomers with higher hashes than me earn less? If they join the same pool as me after everything settles they will inevitably earn more, correct? Care to explain more as I am confused.

PM akumaburn. I am just parroting what I believe to be true about the nature of GoldCoin. I do not mine. I just invest.
I do think it may be that solo mining is a very strong alternative with this coin. Get with akumaburn on that though.
