Title: Goldcoin True Value?
Post by: ipaint on November 25, 2013, 07:51:32 PM
I was thinking what should Goldcoins value be? So I thought okay there's 21 Mill. BTC and 123,432,900 Goldcoins so this is what I did.

123,432,900 / 21000000 = 5.877328571428571

Then I took BTC at $829 (value when I checked)

$829 / 5.877328571428571 = $141.0504772576462

If we base the value that way Goldcoin should be around $141.00.

I was trying to give myself and idea of what we could expect as far as a value. Because we all know the value will be based in part on BTC for a long time.

And I think it gives everyone a goal to reach and something we can say it should be, more or less. Unless there's someone that knows more or has a way of estimating the value other than the way I did it. I'm still new at this so my numbers and way of thinking about a value could be way off.

I'm not taking into account there's no real market place or anything that Goldcoin is being used for at this time. It's in the works I hope someone will set up a market place or more sites start accepting Goldcoins to help give it more value.

With that said, What do you think Goldcoin will or should be at?

Although that would be awesome I don't think it will be priced that high.
I think it will be more like the litecoin prices since they are both scrypt based:
123,432,900 GLD / 84,000,000 = 1.469439285
$12.27 / 1.469439285 = $8.35

Unless Litecoin gets that jump like bitcoin did, I think GoldCoin will be sitting around $8.35
But prices fluctuate often so it could very well be as high as $141

Lets hope you're right! :)

I hope either one of you are right!  Personally I think it within a years time frame, and after many fluctuations, Goldcoin will be sitting around $1-5.  Just a guess though.

I wasn't thinking of LTC it has it's own place in the market. But doing it the way I did even LTC should be a lot more. But each coin has got to show it's value by how it's being used in the marketplace. How many people or sites use it and so on.

I think stemis is pretty close for a 1 or 2 year price. Say $1 in one year and 2 years around $2 and maybe around  $4 or more around the third year.

Lets see GLD came out in April (If I recall)  in 5 months we need $1 that's 12 months

so 15 - 24 months $2

25 - 36 months $5+

lol just had a crazy idea everyone pick a price for the 1 year mark and the person that gets it right everyone that guessed sends them 1 Coin.

Need to see if I was right about the month it came out though. I know someone knows :) I should know the month by now.

Your guess has to be posted no later than Dec. 31, 2013 after that your guess won't count.

Current asking price on Cryptsy 0.00002978

Using http://preev.com/ makes it $0.02418 cents

If you make the BTC equal dollars it can go 2 or 3 places like 0.12 or .123 depends on the price.

So lets say use the dollar value $1.23

My guess for April 1, 2014 $0.9673 or $0.98 cents. Sorry Microguy you can't have a drink yet  :o :o ;D ;D ;D
