Title: Gauging Interest on a Physical GLDcoin
Post by: stemis on November 26, 2013, 09:57:30 AM: I am in talks with a couple of coin manufactures on the physical minting of an actual 'GLDcoin' for selling to the community. My intention is to not assign GLD to the GLDcoins that are minted due to legal reasons, but I thought it would be a great way to show support.

Details are still being worked out, but it looks at though the coin itself will just be Gold (real) plated, around another less expensive metal in order to keep the costs lower for me.

I am soliciting ideas for designs. I will pay a few GLDcoins for the winning design if anyone shows interest.

I like your idea. Just to let you know the official name of the coin is GoldCoin™.

But mainly I wrote it that way as to not confuse myself :)

Lastly, I am working with bringing the price down while somehow making the coins unique. More to come as I work with the coin developers after the US Thanksgiving holiday. Still looking for coin design images if anyone is bored.
