Title: IRC communication by the goldcoin client?

Hi
I've discovered that the goldcoin client tries to make an IRC connection (to Port 6667) to some IPs when it's started up. This is normally blocked in many companies, also in mine.
Could you maybe change the communication port (for whatever reason it tries to make IRC?!?) to a different one, like 8080 or so?

You can disable IRC through the configuration file. Google has plenty of tutorials on how to do so.

I think I found it.
For all others, open your c:\users\yourusername\appdata\roaming\goldcoin (gld)\ folder. in there is a goldcoin.conf file. This file you edit with notepad or a different text editor and add
noirc=1
to the file on its own line.

actually : download mIRC , install it, then take a username and join #GoldCoinIRC
