All alt coins besides litecoin are definitely in an infancy state with none having a huge lead on the other imo.
Perhaps we can market goldcoin to some places such as actual GOLD sellers. We can explain that goldcoin is a new cryptocurrency that would like to associate itself directly with gold and other valuable assets. Now is definitely a good time to get in and perhaps some of these places would work with us in some way.
I would be willing to donate a percentage of goldcoin for some links on some of these providers sites.
Maybe we could send some emails to various places like this?

I can certainly agree with that, especially since most of them are only a few months old.
I have been watching some of the other coins such as Digital Coin and World Coin and they do have more infrastructure than Gold Coin. Nevertheless, their "Ebay" clone sites hardly have any activity from what I have observed. It may take much patience and time for a coin to grow and become accepted.
I like the idea of gold dealers using GLD as a means to buy gold, silver, platinum or palladium coins. This would in effect give GLD an implicit gold backing, because you could exchange it at any time for cold hard cash. At this time, however, the entire amount of GLD in circulation can only buy 5 or 6 ounces. Perhaps we can focus more on GLD usefulness in July after the new client is released.

I was thinking the same thing about the gold backing Stouse. Honestly, if we find just a few corporate sponsors, the price of GLD could rise dramatically imo.
I think it's a good/inexpensive risk for some to take.

By the way, I'm not trying to divert attention away from the patch or the community game plan. I'm just posting thoughts. I'll forget them otherwise. Most are likely duds but if I post one that's decent and it triggers a thought in someone else's head then that's a good thing I suppose.
I was watching a Youtube video today where a guy was disparaging BBQ coin because of the name alone. GoldCoin definitely has the best name in my opinion.

Right now the way the price BTC price has dropped. They may not want to accept another coin at this time. But it will go back up when Gox starts accepting USD again(or fix what ever problem it is their having). But then again Cryptsy might get a jump on them if they can get the USD section up and running, I think that will help bring the prices up on most of the coins and bring a lot more people to Cryptsy.
