Title: Do you leave your mining rig 24/7?
Post by: KardoseR on December 05, 2013, 04:10:08 PM
Do you leave your mining rig 24/7?

I want to let my rig run full tilt with the cooler at max (cools down to 80 C )

What are your experiences in this?
do you mine 24/7? whats the temperature of your gpu?

And can i risk my card if it runs 80 C  24 hours a day?

ARe all of your GPU fans at 100 percent too? If they are that should help a crap ton. GPU fans can be run at 100 percent 24/7 with no issues. I keep my GPU's under 80C. I think you'll be fine.

get some box fans or additional fans to pull/push some air into those cards.  Make sure you space them out as well.

Should be fine 24/7

One server and one workstation are on 24/7 (~100 kh/s), my gpu minter is on for about 14 hours a day.

I leave my rig running 24/7. 3x 7950 GPU's, Temps 50-65, 1.6MH/s stable. I can ramp it up to 2MH/s at the weekends but I don't like doing that. If it's over 2Mh/s it might stop at 3am, then I'll find out at 7am (etc etc). Not the best, so I've opted for stability.

I could push the cards a lot more but I prefer the stability. And I have a day job. I don't want to have to have to worry about it (it's in my attic/loft). I go about my business and check it once in a while.
