Just looking for some ideas of what the average person like myself can do to help Goldcoin grow? After looking at some of the ridiculous coins out there that seem to be making it right now like Doge ( how the hell lol ) there has to be something more we can do as a community to spread the word and keep moving in the right direction. We have a great community, some great devs, and a very solid coin compared to most of the clones and joke coins out. Maybe we can get a list going of things we can all do. Not sure how helpful I can be as I'm working full time and starting my first semester of college on the 13th. ( I haven't been in school in 14 years so it should be interesting ) If there's anything at all I can do in my limited free time, you can bet I'll be doing it.
Thanks to all the people that have been actively creating websites for Goldcoin and anyone that has been trying to spread the word.
Lets get some ideas going here for what we can do to get ourselves back to .10-.15 cents like we were at one point, $1.00, $10.00, and beyond. Anything is possible, we just all have to put in the work to get things started going that direction. Once the price spikes back up and more people take notice, it will all be downhill from there.

1. Mine it!
2. Tell everyone about digital currencies! i'm still surprised at the number of people i speak to who have little to no understanding of bitcoin, without which they won't appreciate the benefits manifest in GLD
3. Use, promote and donate toward development of GLD related services i.e. market, escrow etc
4. Offer to broker an investment for any friends/family that have an interest but are time poor. I've done this a number of times (with a frank explanation of associated risks of course!).
5. Offer a freebie of someone's first 10/20/30 GoldCoins if they install the wallet
6. Keep the faith!

Currently, the value of coins are driven by speculation... not many people understand (or want to understand) the "growing" crypto currency. Many people think of it as a bubble or something that will die in a few years or as a short term/highly volatile investment to make "quick" money.
For GLD price to go up short term, more people have to become interested in it. So for us, all we can really do is get the word out everywhere you can. I've been doing it by telling friends, coworkers, families, etc. Many people have gained interest and are asking my advice for mining rigs whereas some have totally denied any success of crypto currencies in the future ::)
I've taken my first steps on promoting GLD by selling a few goods for GLD on here. It was such an easy transaction :) However, I'm really looking forward to what the devs are cooking up for the new client.
A lot of it right now is the waiting game for us... and really hoping that the devs and some dedicated business guys who stop by here to spread the word through media and coordinating with firms in Wall Street, etc.
I'm looking at GLD in the long term for when things change:
1. Crypto currency becomes widely accepted = more people interested in GLD = price goes up.
2. GLD becomes independent from bitcoin/litecoin.
3. More exchanges with GLD <-> FIAT trade.
4. Media spotlight on GLD. Possibly something along the lines of precious metal exchange accepting GLD, GLD becoming the new way to invest in physical Gold, etc.
5. More services using GLD to buy/sell goods.
Who knows how long it would be for these to happen... but I'm hoping less than 5 years. Look at bitcoin.. it didn't happen overnight.

There are now 205 coins out there, I can't keep up with them all. I don't have any GLD coins at the moment, but I do use LTC and FTC, the way I see to help is to SPEND SPEND and SPEND. And to find as many people as you can who will except them for goods/services ;)

Building a community around GoldCoin is key, of course getting it on the major markets doesn't hurt but to me that is well in the future. Having an active and growing community will help solidify the value of the coin. I am still a believer that word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Informing friends and family on what crypto currency actually is tends to spark their interest and in turn they share this information with others. I am on the verge of getting some paper wallets to give to my more tech savvy friends and family so that they can get into this new age of currency without purchasing or mining as of yet.
I am also in the process of developing a few side projects to help promote the coin, I will release more information about them once I near completion.
Again if anyone has ideas for something that requires programming/design then by all means let me know. If it is something that wont take a year to create I will be more than happy to help build it.
