Hi everyone. My name is Bob, I'm 38, work full-time as a Support Technician for Blair Technology Group, where we sell affordable, refurnished desktops and laptops, mainly in the $100 to $300 price range.
Just watched MicroGuy's youtube video and have been mining Goldcoin for about a week now. While I am at work I have two computers GPU mining.
Already found a block (45 goldcoins are waiting to mature still) so hopefully that goes well and I'll have my first Goldcoins!
Working 40 hours a week pays my bills but I'm hoping to make some good profits mining and soon may be investing in some Goldcoin as well. I had a long stint of unemployment so I am still playing catch up on bills and necessities.
Not sure if I am too late to have a chance to win the 100 Goldcoin, but either way, hello and best of luck to everyone!
Any and all donations are welcome and would be my first person to person transaction!

Hi! Welcome to the GoldCoin community and good luck with the mining.
-
Nice to meet you. I recommend pool mining. I'm using 1 GPU (granted its a good one) but I mine something like 20 coins a day from only a few hours of mining while I do non-graphic intensive work.
Pooling lets you share the risk and the reward. Some of these blocks get orphaned, some take forever to find compared to others, etc.

I understand your advice on pool mining. When I first started mining GLD, the difficulty was very low, like 2 or 3, but now it seems a lot more people are mining and the difficulty has jumped up to 8 and 9, so solo mining will be a lot more difficult without a lot of khash/sec.
I do about 270-280 khash with my two computers and was lucky enough to find 3 valid blocks the first 4 days I started mining.
Right now I am pool mining LiteCoin and will be trading it for GoldCoin each time I get at least .1 saved up. Usually takes me about 3 days of constant mining LC.

Nice 280-*, have you settled into a pool yet? if so what does that Kh/s get you? Just curious I'm just mining right now with a couple cards but i have the intensity on D, only doing around 40Kh/s
I'm going to adjust my mass lot of CPU miners I have ready to mine some GLD ( I have two DC's) soon as I get a good configuration for Linux/GLD also, once I find a good pool I'm going to add some miners I have yet to unbox yet.
should put me at a nice hashrate, much higher hopefully. Should this all go well going to get some more ASIC scrypt miners..it's kind of addiction!
a friend of mine smacked me and told me to stop spending money on BTC mining an turned me on to Scrypt mining! :)
in a pool, this should be fairly well right???? Im a BTC miner normally and have a room full of ASIC miners ripping up blocks as I watch BTC drop daily :(
Anyway sir good luck on your mining please share any tips, pools, suggestions and of course any linux CPU mining tips for GLD!!
