Title: Hi all, I just started to mine gold coins.
Post by: MegaHelper on July 20, 2014, 05:17:51 AM
Hi all I just bought a 14 mhs scrypt miner (Zeus Hurricane x3) and started to mine gold coins today on http://gld.hashfaster.com/ . The problem is that they only show  6ish mhs, and the other two pools (cryptcoins.net and minepools.net) I tested are hashing properly, around 13ish to 14ish mhs. I want to use gld.hashfaster.com as my primary gold coin mining pool, but I don't want to be hashing at half the rate. Anyone here know how to solve this issue? Thanks

We are all here to help each other out and it is good to have you here on the forum. I'm sorry that I do not have an answer to your question. I'll have to leave that up to someone else more knowledgeable in that area. But I want to say Welcome.

Thank you nuggetgal, glad to be here and nice to meet you. I'm surprised how easy it is to mine gold coins, so far I can mine over 100+ gold coins from my scrypt miner every day.

From all the coins out there I think gold coin will be one of the top coins future. One of the reason why I choose gold coins over other cryptos, including bitcoin, is because I like the amount of total gold coins, 123 million, and the name of the coin, it really stands out from all other coins. No matter where you look, you can just google "coin", and you can see most coins are in gold. I'm surprised why gold coins had not gone up in value sooner, of all the coins out there, including bitcoins, I think gold coins is the best choice for web site developers, because it's cheap to use per coin ( 1GLD = $0.014 cent ), I think what gold coin just needs is a few good websites that uses gold coins as a payment system, as more people start to use gold coins in websites, then more people will start to mine and buy gold coins.

I do not know any sites myself accepting GoldCoin for payment. At one time I thought there were some game sites that were taking them but not sure who they were. I'm building a GoldCoin website so there's more GoldCoin websites to help spread gld information. So I am also looking to find out places that accept gld. When I learn of them I'll be making a list and will share them. I'm trying to have all this kind of information gathered at one spot on the site. (PS. If anyone knows of any, please post them on the forum. We could use all the help we can get to gather this type of information.)

Thank you for sharing the link MicroGuy, the site is very good, but I think we need to develop sites that are exclusively for gold coins to attract the public to use gold coins as a single source for web sites and eCommerce. I think gold coins have a very good price, amount, and name. All we need now is a few good sites that uses only gold coins. Even if one day gold coin becomes $1, people are still willing to spend 1GLD for some service on a website, where as one bitcoin now is about $620, no one want to spend one bitcoin on something, and using decimals is very confusing. What we need is some gold coin APIs that can help web developers on how to implement gold coin into their websites as a payment system. Do you know where I can find information about how to use gold coins on websites maybe some codes and APIs? Thanks.

There are a couple of ways to make a website that accepts Goldcoin exclusively. One way would be to build a custom coded website. Another method would be to use the payment processor coinpayments.net and configure the gateway to accept Goldcoin only.

I don't think it matters if you mine on this or that particular pool or if one pool has more or less hashpower than another.  In fact, if your miner is as fast as the entire pool, then you could also do solo mining.

This doesn't answer your question.  If you were to join gld.hashfaster.com, others may join as well to be part of a larger pool with more regular payouts.
