What do you think?
Yes I've been keeping the new client under wraps for a while to avoid others exploiting it before we're ready, but ultimately this is an open community, and although the choice to release the code at any stage is ultimately my own. I wish to get the community's opinion on this matter.
This poll will be kept open for 10 days..
If the community votes to keep the client under wraps and wait until I have enough time to finish it, then I will do that.
OR
If the community votes to open the client(say to get us a larger development team) even though it is not finished and risk leaking information to our competitors, then I will do that.
The choice is yours now.

I'm not sure if there is a risk that your code is imitated by other currencies and more if only I do not agree, but only if there is no possibility that if this happened before to other wallets
I think goldcoin not sufficiently known by people,
but every day more people know about it.

Those are thin clients/web interfaces for underlying daemons.. They're not full clients.

voted for yes, spread it to the world and make it open source they might found something that couldn't we find and we expect they could help & develop the code together. .
don't worry another coins copying and implementing the code , definetely it will be different because i believe goldcoin have a special something that other coin can't do.

I'm sure that is more constructive to leave the development on the GitHub since that way it will be easier for other developers give their contribution!

Vote yes, as there are several update options. Some might want a GUI with all the extras, as others might not want to see all the extras & the option to pick which client to run would be up to the user. I may not have much software knowledge (coding), but with a decade of building 100's of PC & going from Windows 95 to Windows 10 (Linux since 2010 distros & not much mac or apple experience). If someone asked what era I think these applications are in, the Vista era would be my final answer. ~That's correct, the new UI & app era. Which we seen with the update from Windows 8 to 8.1, then the last Windows 10. Wouldn't it be nice to move from a basic UI box, maybe a Gold Coin UI (an actual coin shape UI) & stats to show how the client is operating (like a dashboard in an automible). Over the last few years of these applications, seeing the potential of how this could change the world & inspire many people to learn with infinite possibilities. Time is the only factor, but Patience is a virtue & some day we will all look back on how the last 100 years have developed.

What software do we need to build this client? I tried Intellij IDEA and it can't make heads or tails out of the source to run the client.

Hi just open the project file with eclipse and you should be able to build. Note only the GUI builds successfully at the moment, the daemon isn't finished yet.

[General note and commentary]
Amir and I are actively seeking developers to help complete the Goldcoin 2.0 code. He decided to release the client in this unfinished state after a community consensus was reached. Since the existing client is currently serving our needs exceptionally well, we can consider this project a non-critical work in progress.
Amir has indicated that he will resume his work on the new client in approximately 2 weeks. The main difference being, now the code is open and available for review and third party contributions.
