Yes! It's finally here, the new Goldcoin™ mobile Android App for your Smart phone!
Now you can take your Goldcoins on the road and exchange them with family and friends on the go. Use them to pay your child for babysitting or for washing the family car. Teach them the value of money and how to track their investment as it grows. But most of all have fun!

Please note: Your phone may require you to disable the setting that allows only Google Play Applications to be installed. If you are an existing beta tester, before uninstalling the app please back up your keys first (using Backup Keys command) and/or transfer your coins to your computer. Uninstalling will erase your wallet.

Bug Fixes since original beta release:
1. Exchange Rate calculation errors which gave very large GoldCoin valuations.
2. Periodic Crashing due to decimal point (, vs .)
3. Updates to the GoldCoin URI scheme from the client 0.6.9.4. The app will be able to interface with both "gldcoin:" and "goldcoin:" QR codes.

If I force close it, no. Otherwise, if I just swipe it off the recent apps list, yes

Successfully installed the app on Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 running 4.1.2 Cyanogenmod. Had a crash first time i opened it, sent a report, but works without problem now.

Error had me thinking it was packaged wrong but evidently was just something in getting it from the main site.

Other than strange download problem, seems good so far.
Platform: T-Mobile branded Galaxy SIII, running 4.1.2
Could use a note on where its pulling exchange data and a time stamp on it if showing to another person for validity etc. Just so you don't have to be browsing/closing out etc.

Had to download it on another platform
i had the same issue using zirco browser on my phone. had to use the stock browser (which is not my fav) and it would stop downloading unless i bounced back and forth between pages. never the less i finally got it.

I had to remove skype for the goldcoin wallet blockchain to download, I have been using wifi to download on it. It has been stuck at 4 months for some time saying synchronization 4 months behind and also every once and awhile saying synchronization stalled, 4 months behind.

The developer has investigated this issue and concluded this was most likely caused by an internet/network issue beyond our control. If the problem persists on other networks please let us know.

Must admit this screenshot is from my lenovo ideatab. (my phone is full at this point)
I regularly search for and evaluate android wallets as I believe acceptance of these currencies depends largely on availability. You can't spend your money if you can't carry it with you.
I currently carry BTC, LTC, FTC, FST, and now GLD.

Edit: It runs nor for about 20 min but it seems like it wont sync...i'll just let it run a bit more and see what happens.
Btw. how did you get the ~USD under your GLD balance?
Edit 2: Okay it seems my Android can't connect to any Peer...any idea why? To be clear, i tried it with activated adblocker and with deactivated, it didn't matter :(

Here ya go. I installed the app on my Google Nexus 7 tablet. My bitcoin and litecoin wallets work fine but the goldcoin wallet won't sync with the network for some reason. I've tried uninstalling and installing multiple times, still says "Synchronization stalled, 5 months behind". Any ideas?

Ok. I know I am late to the show, so I am not expecting any coins.
I am just excited about gold coins and have installed the app, so I wanted to show it off. :)
I have to say, this is a nice simple android app. I like how it just builds the QR code right on the phone for easy send an receive. Cool.
**Make sure you guys have a password on your phone, a utility to remotely wipe/lock your phone, and a backup of your keys/info. **

You are not crazy. I am having similar problems, where it seems to be slow to connect to peers. I am working on a fix to hopefully add more peers, more quickly.
If you are not connect to any peers, then the Wallet may think it is synchronized. That is because no one told it that it was out of date!

I posted my photo in reply #49 above but never received the 200 GLD. This was while we were waiting for the updated Android app. Can you please send them now that it's working again?

Just installed the app to test out your android client.
Somehow it won't sync. Error message is: 'Synchronization stalled, 6 months behind'.
Tested on a device running Android 4.4 (KitKat) and a device running Android 2.2 (Froyo)
