Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone would be able to help me. I've been pool mining for a few days and fancied giving solo mining a try, but I've hit a bit of a problem.
I'm using cgminer, and everytime I try to start the miner in server mode from windows cmd prompt, I get an error about needing to create a rpcpassword. I'm not quite sure why I'm getting this error, as I have created a GLDcoin.conf txt and saved it as a conf file, in the same folder as the wallet.dat, which contains a username and password etc.
Any help anyone could give me would be much appreciated, I'm sure it's something fairly simple that I'm missing, thanks in advance.

Solved it I think :)
Thought I would post the solution just incase anyone else was trying this and following the same online instructions as I was from the main bitcoin forum.
When you name your conf.file you need to call it goldcoin.conf not GLDcoin.conf like it says in the instructions

glad you solved it I had just read your first post and was going to try and help. Any other probs with solo mining with cgminer I can try and help. I have set solo mining with cg miner on all my computers always nice when your own blocks start coming into your wallet

Thanks, I'm sure I will have to take you up on that offer, it's not exactly easiest process to get started with.
I was happy to see it finally start to mine it was giving me a headache, I've been messing about with it for the past few hours.
I'm not sure how well I will do as I'm currently only using 1 gpu so not expecting to much, but I wanted to try it and compare the results with mining on a pool. I will hopefully be getting a second card over the next few weeks so things should improve then.
