As many of you already know, there is a GoldCoin advisory panel comprised of a group called the "Dream Team".

There are currently two empty seats on this board. My idea is to offer a popular celebrity one-million Goldcoins to accept a seat on this board. We could include various conditions like, the Goldcoins cannot be sold for 2 years, the person must remain on board for at least 12 months, etc. It shouldn't take more than a few weeks to find a suitable candidate.
-
I think this is a good idea to maintain popularity and endorsement. The person would have to be received well publicly and have a bit of technical expertise it is a great idea!
-
i like it.
-
It has to be max keiser, it needs to be max keiser. He is such a big voice in the new emerging crypto economy. His credibility is second to none. Everyone bug the hell outa him till he agrees! twitter, youtube etc. Try contact stacey herbert too for reinforcement. just imagine if he does an alt crypto show on the keiser report, guess which coin he'll be shouting about.
-
I think this is a great idea.
-
Today I'll send Max and Stacy emails with the one-million-coin offer. I'll put up half of the bounty and we can try to raise the rest from the community if he replies and expresses any interest. We should probably also come up with a list of other potential candidates.
-
Other candidates in my mind would be:
Stefan molyneux
He is an extremely intelligent guy with a huge following on youtube. He loves the free market and has run his own software company before. He knows all about the unsustainable debt driven economy we live in and has expressed nothing but good views towards bitcoin already.
Adam Kokesh
Pretty much has all the same views as stefan but uses his balls to back up his ideas.Although he is locked in a cage at the moment im sure he will win his freedom soon enough in court and when he does his highly popular live podcast and youtube channel will be back up and running again. Adam was telling people to buy bitcoin when it was only $8 dollars, and has also done shows on alt crypto currencies before.
James Corbett
Based in japan, and again another youtuber with a big following, he does the corbett report. He has appeared on RT time and time again for his analysis of current events. Another really smart guy.
Gerald Celente
Has been correctly predicting trends for the last 30 yrs. When this guy speaks, people listen. Not sure where he stands on bitcoin, he is more of a gold bug than crypto guy but no harm in asking. And again big on youtube and appears on a lot of different main stream tv news stations worldwide.
Some other names ill throw into the hat for more choice and their ability to promote the coin(who knows if its even possibly to get in contact with them though)
Russel Brand : cant do an interview anymore without it blowing up on youtube (cos he's sick of the status quo)
Ashton kutcher : dont like the guy but he is a open supporter of bitcoin
Ron Paul : he's been banging on for years about how the fed are printing money and knows about bitcoin
Would like to see if anyone else has any ideas for people....
-
These are some great suggestions. It shouldn't take too long to find someone to accept this offer.
-
Coincidentally, Stacy Herbert just posted this today at maxkeiser.com and is active in the comments. I have just posted a comment in the thread.

If you hand out gold coins for free people will feel like your cryptocurrency isn't fair and go with other options. A paid soldier is no where near as good as a willing soldier.........,..bad idea to give 1millions gld coins out.
I disagree. Securing a valuable board member through compensation makes the currency much stronger. Besides, it's absolutely crucial that the board member have a stake in the currency.
Anyone who thinks it makes the currency unfair is living in an alternate reality.

To be honest i find 1 million Goldcoins also very high, maybe we could go for 100000 Goldcoins and attach some conditions to it. Example he would receive it after we accomplished some goals we have set.
In real companies all bonusses are with conditions.

He didn't say the amount was "high"? He disagreed with the entire concept of paying to secure a celebrity board member. And "real companies" pay signing bonuses every day to secure top talent.
The conditions are a good idea, but $330 USD is not going to attract the type of person I have in mind. And as I stated in my original post, there will be conditions that the coins must be held for some time period. To me one million goldcoins is the best number.

Great idea.
I would avoid Adam Kokesh though, as he's a bit of a tool and has already landed himself in jail twice for being an idiot.
Not exactly the type you want to be the face or your currency.
Thanks. That does make sense.

I wouldn't dismiss Kokesh so easily, its true hes been sent to jail a couple times but that's because he is one of the few people who will stand up for YOUR rights and challenge unjust laws. This guy is a true entrepreneur and has an unbreakable spirit. Hes not giving up,ever, and his fan base will only increase. Im sure if he was on board he would promote the hell out of gldcoin.
Everyone has their opinions, this is mine. And again he is just a suggestion, Max Keiser is the guy we really need.
-
I was just thinking we could make this a one-million-coin, two-year deal with payment of 500K per year. I'll guarantee the funds for the first year. Any ideas on what terms and conditions?
Maybe the candidate should agree to have the coins held in escrow for some predetermined period. Also, one condition might be that the individual will give us permission to use his/her name and likeness in our promotional/advertising materials.
And again he is just a suggestion, Max Keiser is the guy we really need.
Yes, I guess we should give him the right of first refusal and then move on to the next man on the list. I think we need this position filled by Christmas. And then of course we need to fill the other vacant board seat as well.
-
Max Keiser is a good idea :)

Got to love the goldcoin comments below the article:

Stefan Molyneux has the most YT subscribers (over 100k, plus his views are the most intense as of late), Ron Paul has several YT channels so he probably has more, Adam Kokesh has over 80K and more than one YT channel, Corbett has over 60k, Celente is not far behind Corbett. I would think any of the afore mentioned can't hurt the Goldcoin.
The CEO of SIRI (sirius satellite) has over 4 billion shares and has sold only a very little therefore the stock has been moving a steady climb for a long time, of course Howard Stern doesn't hurt.

I'd like to see about contacting Max Keiser with a possible offer.
Does anyone have any idea how to contact him?
-
I just fired this letter off using the official Goldcoin email account. 8)
Dear Stacy,
The Goldcoin (GLD) community has a board seat available (1 of 5) and would like to offer the open chair to Max Keiser.
We are a rising top-30 digital currency (http://coinmarketcap.com) and believe the name “Goldcoin” is superior to any other name in the crypto market. Over the past six months we’ve assembled a thriving community, a top-notch development team, and have seen a 5000% increase in market cap. It is our intention to secure a celebrity board member and compensate him in the amount of one-million goldcoins which today is worth around $25,000 USD. In exchange, we would like for Max to serve a minimum of 1-year, endorse the coin, and authorize the use of his image in our advertising and promotional materials.
It is our expectation that Goldcoin will continue to rise in value and has a clear future potential of competing directly with Bitcoin. We believe further that we have the entire puzzle sorted and are missing just the one piece that will propel the currency into the mainstream.
I appreciate your time and consideration and would ask that you pass this offer along to Max.
Sincerely,
Greg Matthews
Board Chairman

Nice idea.
I think, the board team must define a lot of strategy to promote GLD....

What do you guys think about Chris Dunn? He is the founder of the E-mini Academy (futures) and Traderformula (Stocks). He also has got quite the following on twitter, facebook and youtube and is a BTC advocate. He might not have the same pull as some of the previous mentioned names but it's a start and maybe we could set up a different deal with.
Here is a Bitcoin video he posted about a month ago and it is already at 7500 views:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=000UtKtm7kU
Take a look and let me know. I am able to get in touch with him if you guys are interested. Doing my best to contribute. Thanks

RT has 630 million viewers, so Max Keiser would probably do the trick for exposure. He seems to like talking about gold and silver, so Goldcoin should be natural.
If he doesn't accept, one could always approach several different bloggers (http://selfmademinds.com/200704/which-blogs-have-the-most-feed-subscribers/ (http://selfmademinds.com/200704/which-blogs-have-the-most-feed-subscribers/)), run graphics design and video contests, get a fiat to GLD exchange running, and save most of that amount. (Or just continue non funded organic growth.)
How did you find Stacy's email?

How did you find Stacy's email?
The email I sent to Stacy bounced. The address was posted on a web article from 2012 I found through a Google search.
These addresses all bounced:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
Then I did a WHOIS lookup on the maxkeiser.com domain and found [email protected]. That email did not bounce. I also notice that Max is very active on Twitter and that Stacy is active in the maxkeiser.com blog article comments.
Maybe we could get their attention by tweeting or commenting on blog articles?

Yeah, that's one possibility (which could also attract other people just through the comments themselves). Max and Stacy also have done Google Hangouts before and put a number of people on the air (http://www.maxkeiser.com/2013/12/hangout-with-us/ (http://www.maxkeiser.com/2013/12/hangout-with-us/)).

Another idea would be to contact various talent agencies in search of potential candidates. With the current market volume even a basic endorsement from a well-known 80's sitcom star could launch this coin into the top ten.
My guess is that many of these coins will find celebrity endorsements down the road. Most likely there will soon be many celebrities eager to become invested in these markets. This could be the perfect time to make a deal.
-
As far as making a deal, I think that GLD would be going up with the next tide regardless of what happens in the workshop, and the GLD offer would be attractive to bigger celebrities when it trades at multiples of the current value (and more could be used in other areas and saved). I think it's certainly a good time to start looking around, though.
