Title: A GLD Coin
Post by: ipaint on June 13, 2013, 08:13:48 PM
I've been playing around with an idea for GLD Coins. This is the first sample I made.

Goldcoins like this were in the mario brothers games I think, but also in World of Warcraft I think.

Neat. If someone could make physical coins, I right now am throwing up a 1000 GLD bonus:). That would be something neat to have.

I know they do it with BTC. But what information needs to be on the coin if someone had one with a value of 10 GLD? I placed my GLD address on it just for an example.

Well, you have the private key to a wallet with 10GLD in it stored inside the coin. As far as I know that's all you actually NEED for a coin to have a value, anything else is just aesthetic.

But with GLD, 10GLD coins will probably be useless for quite a while, 1000GLD is probably a good starting point for coins.

But anyway I made another coin

I like the font that you are using for "Gold Coin" better in that one but I don't like the positioning.

Are these designs for physical coins? I think they should be a little more minimalistic and definitely need to include the GLD value of the coin.

Dayne, I'm just trying to come up with a design, what will I do with it? no idea maybe let someone else use it or try something myself.

Plus I had the crazy idea of painting a GLD address in a painting and add a pass code to unlock a wallet on a thumb drive. It could give one of my paintings a crazy value at some point in time. I'm sure no one ever thought BTC would be $100 or more. So I thought I could do a painting and add the code and place the wallet on a drive and attach it to the painting some how, that would let people know if it was removed. People would be asking, Whats all the letters and numbers for? Or come up with a different way of doing it.

Well I like what you have done so far, keep at it! :)

That's a crazy idea but I like eccentricity and it sounds pretty cool, a painting with a cryptocurrency address in it that comes with the private key if you purchase it, that sounds intriguing, I'd love to see something like that done.

Here is an idea I was thinking about for a painting for GLD. It's the GLDC Bank and Pappy's Saloon. There is a wanted poster next to the door stating "Wanted 1000 GLD". If I did this painting and I really wanted to add GLD to it some how. I would need a larger canvas. This is just a sample painting, But then again my wife likes it so who knows ;)
