Title: Just a newbie checking out GLD

Hi guys,

I am pretty new to this virtual currency thing.  Just gotten myself a GLD account but am pretty overwhelmed by the many virtual currency alternatives available out there.

So what makes or will make GLD special compared to BTC and all other alternatives like LTC, FTC?   :P

Thanks MicroGuy for sending GLD but is it just me or was there an error in network/transaction?

I have just updated my wallet to the latest v0.7.1.4-gcf3abdf39d-beta and is currently up-to-date but still seeing 0 GLD balance/unconfirmed.
Did a search on http://gld.cryptocoinexplorer.com/ which returned:

Address not seen on the network.

???
