In support of GLD we're now paying miner's $8.00/day per 1,000 KH/s to mine Gold Coin (GLD).
The total amount budgeted for this program is $40.00/day which should result in an additional 5,000KH/s of mining power. What I'm requesting now are suggestions on how this plan should be organized, managed, and implemented. Basically I will need to know how to verify the paid rates are being achieved and how to fairly distribute these funds. It's also most certain that these rates will need to be adjusted over time.

This seems like a really great idea. The question is, will this be in place before or after the difficulty change?
-
It should be before the difficulty change because that's when we need people to mine. Reward should be @ .01 BTC to each person who finds a block between now and then and can confirm it.
-
I have just budgeted $125/wk towards this project which I can guarantee for a minimum of 8 weeks for a total of $1000 in payouts. I can convert this money to either LTC, BTC, or GLD. We will just need someone to administer the program and forward the payments to the winning miners.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions in terms of a payment administrator and how winning miners should be verified and payed?
-
Can it be traced through the block chain? My knowledge of the block chain is not very extensive. I'm going to through my miner back to GLD tonight, in about 5 hours.
I would also say they need to be members of this forum to qualify.

Thanks for the input Sting. I was just thinking and we can adjust the $1000 payout as needed. It could be spread out over anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks. I also like your idea about requiring the miners to be a member of this forum. So let's go ahead now and make that one of the qualifying criteria.

Hi, when does this promo start? what do you need? just my address?

Hi, when does this promo start? what do you need? just my address?
The promo starts today. We just need an administrative method.

Here is my GLD address E7DLLpJ54jw3kXzqr9CMz6o3DaK2S7L7SR
So whenever I solve a solve a block I will post the block # and the link to a blockchain exlorer so that you can match it to my address. This will at least make it easy on whoever administers it.
But what you can do for others who don't do this, is find a GLD blockchain explorer, and just look at each block for which address solved it. If they do not post their address here and didn't join the forum, then you don't have to worry about paying them.
BTC: 1NZPtqHawz6dtWrfRns8pTx6E81FAn68vQ
LTC: LRWAiugVC1BKjKg8AkraffZ1nA774uQyV5
Doesn't matter what I get paid in, but I would prefer BTC/LTC so I can buy GLD at the best time/price I can get. I hope to solve some blocks this weekend!
-
I was just checking the block explorer on http://cryptocoinexplorer.com/ and to tell you the truth no idea what I'm looking at lol ... I can't tell who found block 20846.
Here's my address GLD: E94cDZQNXcQ8wtN63MTRRgvpfPHbDvfCdM
LTC: LZ4CCrHMaHY1jNkZauquAePMZkRgEXqNRK
BTC: 1LdEn6yzrzNXSMTRmjrg8XrjXButctoaYe

I'm mining now. However how do we find which address the payment its sent to when mining solo? Just check the transaction details in the client?

Yes, the transaction details will contain the information. When I was mining solo in the beginning, I was able to determined that I mined block 152. With solo mining, you may have a different address for each block.
However, if a person is a member of a pool, I am not sure how you could prove that who solved the block. On GLDCoin VirCurPool, they display information on the last 50 blocks (for now that moves slow, but after the difficulty adjustment won't). For the p2pool pools like afraid.org and coinminer.net, for every block solved all the members are paid according to their shares, but on those sites, I could find no information about who solved the block. The administrator of this program would have to work with the pool operators.

You might think that because I have the username : GoldMine that obviously I am heavy into mining,
but in reality, when I was joining the other forum, I was just trying to get into the theme of the thing, you know.
I wanted a good name, and with a new forum, I reasoned alot of good names were still available.
Unfortunately, I haven't been of much use in regards to mining in these early days of gldcoin, and I was thinking I might buy a different computer for mining.
I think that you are showing that you have somewhat of financing, and as such, I believe people will follow the money sort of thing, so you stand a good chance of having this forum become the main forum then.
GLDcoin was lacking what you are bringing to the table, and I think it is great news to have you come on board, and I thank you for giving bonuses to the miners.
With your permission, I will write my next post about you paying the miners bonuses ? You can even let me know what you want me to say. Thanks again
Great News. :D

Thank you for your kind words.
I think it would be great if you would write about this bonus program. I also contacted the developer today to see if he has any input on how to best distribute these funds.

I wrote a post about this bonus $$$$ program, where miners get paid bonuses for finding blocks when they mine GLD. http://gldcoin.webs.com/apps/blog/

What about if I just pay something like $8.00 per day per 1,000Kh/s to people and have them send the coins to my GLD address? This would attract more miners and guarantee the machine operators daily income. Just an idea.
-
That'd probably work very well if you can afford it.
-
That'd probably work very well if you can afford it.
Okay. I just send you $15.00 PayPal for the next 24 hours. Tell me the hash rate tomorrow and we can make any needed adjustments in the payment.
-
How can we prove the hashrate though? I am solo mining at the moment, so I can't prove my hashrate, as I am running 2x Radeon 7590's and 35 or so CPU's, for a combined hashrate of around 3200 kH/s.
Do I need to point that to a pool?
I have solved 2 blocks since last night though:

Perhaps we can get some feedback from others miners on how to verify hashrates. I decided that each miner should have his own GLD public address to send mined coins. So that might help.
I'm sure we can come up with a good solution.
-
maybe screenshots of hashrate.
-
maybe screenshots of hashrate.
That sounds like a good idea along with unique receiving addresses. This could be a good way to start for now since the mined coin output should be somewhat proportional to the paid hash rate.
I have also just edited the first post in this thread to include a list of currently enrolled miners.
-
I also found 2 blocks last night. We now paying on hashrate rather then blocks?
-

We are trying to collectively increase the hashrate of the network. This thread is basically dedicated to achieving that goal. I'm open to any ideas, but paying by hashrate seems to be a viable solution.
-
Perhaps someone could post an image of their mining stats with hashrate and timestamps as an example to the rest of us on how we can prove that we are meeting the requirements. I am out of town, but look forward to adding some hashpower (300 to 400 kh/s) sometime tomorrow.
-
I liked the blocks idea much better, just my 2 cents.
Anyways you will pay us based on hash rate but all coins mined during the payment period needs to be sent to you?
-
you can monitor via http://coinminer.net:18321/static/index.html
I just kicked in 1000k to the network via that pool..
should I be solo mining instead? or does that make a difference for the network

1MH/s if i got this right?
No it's okay right now pool or solo, doesn't make a big difference i belive.
-
Thanks to everyone who has started mining! :)
I'm just getting started this morning but promise to get to all the private messages ASAP.
Today I will be concentrating my efforts on this thread and getting current miners compensated and added to the list (located in first post of thread). It is in the first post of this thread where I will be keeping a list of miners and their stats. On Tuesday or Wednesday my CampBX account will be funded and I can begin paying miners in BTC. Until then my only option is PayPal.
There are several other miners who have contacted me about mining GLD. I will take some time today also and respond to those individuals.
-
200 KH/s whenever I can. :)
-
I can't verify hash rate, because I am not using a pool, and am using a total of 40 CPU's and GPU's, but I solved 8 blocks so far. When solo mining, there's no way to verify hashrate that I know...

My understanding is that mining hashrate and coins mined should have a direct correlation. Currently I'm receiving mined coins from one of the miners but I having trouble tracking their origin.
What I was thinking is that the participating miners could simply state their hash rates and that the coins mined could serve as the verification. But in order to track where the coins are originating I think I will need to create a unique wallet for each miner. Would love to get some thoughts on this plan? Ways to make it better?
I will be back online a little later today.
-
So, just to clarify, we don't get to keep the coins we mine? You're not so much paying for mining, as buying goldcoin? It took me a while to find a pool that would actually work, but I'm mining now. You can see my hashrate is only showing in the mid 100s, because it hasn't caught up yet for its stats on the site. should show 435K/hash soon enough though.
http://gld.vircurpool.com/statsAuth
We need to hash (no pun intented) out the details shortly though, or I'm gonna switch back to Bitcoin. Am I mining and selling the coin to you, or are you paying a bonus to goldcoin miners?
I'm open to all suggestions and proposals.
Currently, I like having the miners mine the coins to a unique address of my choosing and then paying them based on hashrate. So then it just boils down to adjusting the per hashrate payment amount to a level that will keep miners interested. In other words making the mining of this coin more profitable to them than mining other coins.
The reason I like this idea is because I will not be selling any coins and flooding the market which will help stabilize and ultimately increase the market price which in turn will attract more miners, which in turn will attract more outside investment.
I've really do have to step out now for a while and will check back in a little later.

I'm almost done, I think I have a solution.
Showing screenshots after the mining session is completed.
I will show examples tonight.

Today I completed deals resulting in an additional 7,000 KH/s for the Goldcoin network!
That will exhaust the budget for the week. The last deal I made added another 5,000 KH/s coming from three former litecoin rigs. I will be posting statistics in the first post of this thread as they become available.
As additional mining slots open I will post them in the thread.
-
Unfortunately my power went out a few moments after taking the screenshot :'(
Essentially, the way to prove your hash-rate would be to post a screenshot after your mining session of your mining application showing your average hashrate, accepted shares and receiving address.

That sounds right to me. CGMiner, for instance, will have the start time at the top of the screen. The pool address and hashrates will be there as well as a time stamp of the last operation (which will show how long the mining operation has been running).

Are you solo mining or pool mining. I just pointed 5,000 KH/s at VirCurPool. Is that a good idea?

Pool mining, and sure here are my settings for commandline BFGMiner on afraid.next pool:
bfgminer --scrypt -o http://next.afraid.org:8117 -u E1dQJkrCefbsBptHmaxCBXb1ayxB1H8Byf -p * --shaders 1120,1792,1792 --thread-concurrency 7700,24576,24576 -I 18 --verbose -g 1 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 2 --no-submit-stale --no-stratum
Be sure to modify the shaders and thread concurrency values to match the rig's graphic cards.

I want to get started on this. I have about a total of 3MH. PM me to let me know. im gonna point half of that at vircurpool ASAP. After I talk with you I will point the rest.

Thanks for expressing interest in mining this coin.
According to my understanding we need to mine here: http://gld.cryptocoinmine.com/
My budget has been exhausted for the week, so I won't be able to pay additional miners at this time. I'm currently contributing over 6,000 KH/s to the network. But I think the coin will be profitable soon so please start mining it if you can.
I notice the price is rising today on Cryptsy.
-
hi microguys,
Are you still looking for some miner?
-
Thank you for the 100 GLD microguy :)

Paid hashing with cease tomorrow as the program is no longer needed. This will pull around 6.5 MH/s from the network. The developers and myself will carefully monitor the network and add hashpower back as/if needed.
