Newbie Central / GoldCoin up 25% in the past 24 hours
« on: April 20, 2014, 04:12:48 PM »
Hi guys. Just thought I'd let everyone know that GoldCoin is on the up and up once again. Getting close to .018 cents per coin!

It's nice to see GoldCoin rising when almost all other coins are dropping. Can check all the latest coins @ http://coinmarketcap.com/

25% in the past 24 hours is nothing to shake a stick at!

Good luck everyone and may GoldCoin reach the dollar mark per coin soon!

our one month chart sure looks a lot better than most coins on cryptsy

Indeed!

Just to keep everyone in the loop...  :)

A large independent investor (not a dev, staff, or team member) sent me a courtesy message a couple of days ago and said that over the past few weeks that he had sold over 2 million goldcoins on Cryptsy. I can only imagine how this has impacted our market price considering the storm that altcoins have been weathering lately.

Anyway, he still holds a substantial position but said in the message that he is holding the rest. I think the fact that we stayed above a penny in the face of that kind of selling speaks volumes for our strength.

On a more positive note, we've had more new members join the forum during the month of March than the prior few months combined. And I'm getting flooded with emails and messages from people interested in Goldcoin. It looks like the weather is clearing a bit now and that we're about to make a turn towards clearer skies. (:D)

Viscis made a project board on Trello today with various tasks and goals. I'll start a new thread in the Project Development forum today with a link to the board.

Edit: Here's the link: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=2423.0

Thanks for the update.  Liking the project board.  Can't wait to be a part of the community that will overcome the challenges and make us grow, together.

Someone selling 2 million GoldCoin isn't always a bad thing, especially since people had to buy them in order for him to say he "sold" them.

What hurts GoldCoin the worst is someone selling 2 million GoldCoin at once and them just sitting there up for sale with no buyers for a long time.

Hopefully GoldCoin will do what it has to to prevent ASIC mining. I will end up buying a dedicated mining rig soon to mine GoldCoin, but when the day comes that I am forced to pay for expensive ASIC devices to even have a chance to compete or earn a profit, I will likely give up mining completely.

It is nice to be able to mine and earn profit without being forced to sink a huge investment into mining.

I will call myself a "Recreational Miner" right now, even though I mine 75% of the time on my main computer and 100% of the time on my old computer. I use recreational because I haven't gone out and dropped any large amount of cash into my mining desktop computers. I am able to make some profit still this way.

If ASIC takes over all altcoin, we will then be forced to become "Professional Miners", in which the investment to make any profit will exceed the average person's budget.

Hopefully GoldCoin does everything possible to keep GoldCoin fun and profitable for us "Recreational Miners".

I understand your advice on pool mining. When I first started mining GLD, the difficulty was very low, like 2 or 3, but now it seems a lot more people are mining and the difficulty has jumped up to 8 and 9, so solo mining will be a lot more difficult without a lot of khash/sec.

I do about 270-280 khash with my two computers and was lucky enough to find 3 valid blocks the first 4 days I started mining.

Right now I am pool mining LiteCoin and will be trading it for GoldCoin each time I get at least .1 saved up. Usually takes me about 3 days of constant mining LC.

Ok then I must have gotten unlucky and found a block that someone else found shortly before me.

Oh well, finding 2 blocks in 2 days in a row with 190 khash/s is good enough for now. Can't win them all I guess!

This is what I mean. Notice since I traded for 183.9 GLD since my first post, the transaction overview page shows 6 transactions, but my transactions tab with all and all selected only show 5.

Wondering where the extra transaction came from or went. If I mined an orphan block, it would show the transaction in the list I believe even though it will say not accepted when selected.

Newbie Central / Transaction Question from Newbie
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:01:05 AM »
I woke up this morning to check how my goldcoin mining has been going and noticed I have 5 transactions now instead of 4. I can see the two mining blocks I had found and gotten paid for, as well as the 2 "donations" sent, but there is no 5th transaction anywhere.

I checked transaction history and there is not a 5th transaction, so can anyone please tell me why it says I have 5 transactions when I actually only have 4?

At one time, I had Litecoin Wallet up at the same time as Goldcoin wallet and sent Litecoin to someone. Would Goldcoin have also counted this transaction? That is the only thing I can come up with. How bout you guys?

Thank you.

Hi everyone. My name is Bob, I'm 38, work full-time as a Support Technician for Blair Technology Group, where we sell affordable, refurnished desktops and laptops, mainly in the $100 to $300 price range.

Just watched MicroGuy's youtube video and have been mining Goldcoin for about a week now. While I am at work I have two computers GPU mining.

Already found a block (45 goldcoins are waiting to mature still) so hopefully that goes well and I'll have my first Goldcoins!

Working 40 hours a week pays my bills but I'm hoping to make some good profits mining and soon may be investing in some Goldcoin as well. I had a long stint of unemployment so I am still playing catch up on bills and necessities.

Not sure if I am too late to have a chance to win the 100 Goldcoin, but either way, hello and best of luck to everyone!

Any and all donations are welcome and would be my first person to person transaction!
