Mining & Pools / Re: CG miner problems windows 8.1

I looked at your picture finally.  glad u posted that.

your error is the address to the pool:   stratum+tcp://hash-to-coins.com:3333     that is the correct address.
change that in your miner setup.

(blanking out your miners login doesnt really do anything btw :)  )

your worker name is  hejson?   make sure thats correct.    pw  i use x   sometimes xo   started using x as it was easier...and some of the pools reset it.

any further, let me know.

Mining & Pools / CGMiner commandline start-Help
« on: March 17, 2016, 10:57:58 AM »
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://gld.minepool.net:3333 -u giantkin.fal1 -p xo --no-submit-stale --nocheck-golden --chips-count 128 --ltc-clk 328 -S //./COM5
pause

---------  Above is bat file ----------
i added a pause, whenever i first setup a bat file, add the pause, to check for errors etc.
remove it after its running successfully.

The above is setup for my Falcon scrypt miner.   ( --scrypt starts scrypt)   the address of the pool:port   -u is username.workername -p workerPassword     nosubmit  gets some of the stale shared from your miner, and doesnt send them.    not sure what nocheck golden does...but without it mine wouldnt work.      -chipscount  obviously how many chips your device has...    -ltc-clk is the clock for your miner.     and -s //  is the com port that your device is attached to on your compuer.  (usb, mine is 5)

newer versions change some of these settings.   this version is 3.1.1 curse

so, for the newer version... start with my line. and compare differences.  see whats wrong.    whats missing on yours.

mostly, the first errors are  pool address.   look at their  'Getting started' topic.  they usually have the link address there. make sure the port is also corrent.

then you MUST have a worker setup.    your login .worker      -p x       i use x for password.   some sites require x there. others let u set your own.  it doesnt matter.

-other issues are the com port.   not sure on the newer, but the older you had to figure out the com port that you were connected to  (for usb)
-Chipc count is important. wrong number, and it can lower your hash.
-freq or clock   very important.   wrong number makes it unstable.  overheat or under work!  (which is worse? lol)

the nosubmit is not important.  it just helps your lag time.   ie: instead of sending a bad share, it just deletes it.

ill try to post more later on   if someone needs.

are you using a bat file to start it?

im using an older version (alot older)

if you are using bat file, tell me your command line. here.

if your using the .conf file, thats ok too.   give me the file here ...if ya can.

or copy/paste the info here. from either.  so i can read it over.

Voted as well :)

maybe put in the OP here, all the pertinent data.

Links to the stuff that polo asks.   took a bit of time, and i did that willingly ofc...
but might get more ppl to vote, if they dont have to search for it.
IE: announcement address
..hell i forget. i think they wanted 3 address links.

Just saying :)

Miner for 3yrs i think now, still mini in size.

Started mining Goldcoin a few months back, when winter first hit the area, it was a coin that my rig has to work harder on, so produces a bit more heat!

Ok, that might be just delusional, but it sure seemed that way at the time.

LONG time skype user: giantkin   (i even have a skype wifi phone, that i dont use anymore) :)

bit of a computer geek, build my own, and a few extra's for fun.
Playing with RaspberryPi's when i can too :) lotta fun.
-atm im -badly- hosting my own website.   Joomla base with a kuena forum added in so far.  (on one of my Pi's)
found a way to setup a Cluster of Pi's so that is my next project that way, setup a PI cluster for my site.

Play a variety of computer games.  one or 2 of which, I use google sheets alot.   to coordinate the economics of those games.

I work 7days a week,  7hrs a day at least, and 9hrs a day at most.  could say i work 8days a week, and mean it :)
