Thanks for the summary of solo mining using the GLD wallet. It seems that solo mining using the wallet would be ineffective at best. I am wondering why include it in the GUI? Not to sound sarcastic, but is there some reason other than that a year or two ago it would have been feasible to generate coins that way? Including a mining option in the wallet is common for several other alt-coins as well, so replies here would be useful to me.

Thanks for access here and use of the Goldcoin wallet and network. I am hoping to have some success with it. I read about the 100 GLD for posting here and am interested!
