Well I like what you have done so far, keep at it! :)

That's a crazy idea but I like eccentricity and it sounds pretty cool, a painting with a cryptocurrency address in it that comes with the private key if you purchase it, that sounds intriguing, I'd love to see something like that done.

GoldCoin Discussion / Re: 10,000 GLD for Winning Forum Logo!

I am downloading a vector image editor just for this (as you may know, I specialize in pixel art). I reckon if I poke around is CS5 tomorrow for a while I should come out with some pretty designs. I will edit them into this post when I have them done and expect somebody to upstage them. (I do pixel art lol, not logo designs.) But upstage them in a good way. :)

Ooh. The Twilight Zone is such a good name for that board!

Cheers for making a private board. (Y)

Just liked the page then. A thousand likes already is very impressive!

Going to share some of your videos to increase the viral views. Because videos are a great medium and you explain/hype GLD very nicely in them. (Y)

I like the font that you are using for "Gold Coin" better in that one but I don't like the positioning.

Are these designs for physical coins? I think they should be a little more minimalistic and definitely need to include the GLD value of the coin.

Well, you have the private key to a wallet with 10GLD in it stored inside the coin. As far as I know that's all you actually NEED for a coin to have a value, anything else is just aesthetic.

But with GLD, 10GLD coins will probably be useless for quite a while, 1000GLD is probably a good starting point for coins.

Just to let everyone know Dayne did send me a refund.
I will also confirm that Dayne sent me a refund as was noted in the first post of this thread.

Thanks guys. :)

Nooo. I mean, I can do that. And I know html, I could have used that method but that's an obtuse way of going about it, it's better if I actually fetch the data on the page, rather than displaying the page itself.

How-To Guides / Re: GLDCoin: How to mine with CGMiner.
« on: June 13, 2013, 07:16:17 AM »
I am glad this topic was started.  I would like to see more information about using cgminer.
Definitely the best miner, imo.

For instance this is my configuration using a 7870 (which has a hashrate of 345 Kh/s):
Code: [Select]
cgminer --scrypt -o http://next.afraid.org:8117 -u addr -p x -I 12 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8000 -w 256 --gpu-engine 1075 --gpu-memclock 1500 --lookup-gap 2 --queue 0 -s 1
There is about a 3% of shares rejected after 1/2 day of mining.  Is there a reason why so many shares are being rejected?

You should have thread concurrency set to a multiple of 64 that is related to your shader count on your GPU. So yours should be 5120, or 6400, (if 8000 performs better, of course use that).

I don't know why so many shares are getting rejected. I can't help you there. :s

Shares are rejected when this message comes up:  "Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart"

Programmers start counting from 0. That is just saying you requested work from the "first" pool in your priority list.

Thanks Stouse! :)

I added your suggestions to the list. (Y)

I may end up sub-categorizing stuff if we get enough links, but until then I think that I've put everything in appropriate places.

Mining & Pools / Re: Goldcoin CryptoCoin Mine Pool
« on: June 12, 2013, 10:17:58 PM »
Don't know if something is wrong. But I had say 50 Valid Shares then the count dropped down to 1 Valid Share and the count is starting over. Any reason why this would happen? And the shares I had yesterday aren't showing, just so you know I didn't cash out.

That is valid shares in the current round. When the round finishes, the number is reset to 0 and you are paid for your shares in the last round. (Well it's PPLNS but yeah.) The blocks your payments are from need 120 confirmations before you are able to withdraw them.

Go to Account > Transactions > Unconfirmed to view your payouts that are yet to be confirmed. (ie. won't show up in available balance)

Technical Discussion / CryptoCoinExplorer API
« on: June 12, 2013, 09:52:53 PM »
Hey, if somebody could tell me the php/jquery/ajax/etc command that I need to use to fetch data from (for example) http://gld.cryptocoinexplorer.com/chain/Goldcoin/q/totalbc, I can use my skills as a digital native and Google the [beep] out of that and get some form of statistics page up and running.

I'm not a programmer. I just need to know what command I should use, in what language.. jQuery.get? I am not sure, but a snippet of example code to display the contents of the page I linked should more than suffice for me to whip up something.

I don't think this is very likely, but I don't know for sure.

As far as I know coins only circulate with binaries for Windows and Linux, offhand I can't think of a single altcoin with mac binaries included.

I'm guessing it would just a matter of compiling the source slightly differently for mac, though it might be way more complicated.

Programming is not my area of expertise.

However, I think that smartphone wallets address a much larger market.

I voted already.

I'm sure that some of both the supporters and haters have sock puppets so I'm not sure about the legitimacy of the poll.
