Trading Discussion / Adding GLD to Coins-E
« on: December 22, 2013, 11:42:45 PM »
So I sent Coins-E a message regarding Gldcoin.  They did reply with the following:

"We will surely consider adding this to our exchange.
Thank you."

They seem small in volume, but every little bit counts.

None of this will happen overnight.  Truthfully, all news is good news when it comes to bitcoin.  The run-up, the frenzy.  It helped bitcoin and the alts gain some great exposure.  Put it more in the mainstream for adaptation.  Don't fool yourself if you think it is going away.  I guarantee there are start-ups out there which are fighting to be the first to the punch.  Time will tell.  All we can do is build up the community as well as the technical and marketing infrastructure in the meantime.

Sorry to hear about your stroke.  This is really nice work.  Well done!

Here is a suggest to gain visibility:

In your youtube account, under the tag line for each video.  Under video manager/info and settings..find the "tags" field.  Here, enter EVERY word you can think of regarding cryptocurrency.  Example, goldcoin, litecoin,bitcoin...all cryptos on the market cap list. Also add any phrase you can think of.  Once done, copy it to EACH video tag line and save it.  This will increase your videos to end up in search results quite a bit.

Thanks again and best of luck!

I really like the videos that you have done.  They obviously took some time, they look fresh and they show your dedication to this coin.

One criticism:  My favorite video is the second from the top in this thread.  The only issue with it is a grammatical error: You say "Stop it's not to late".  It should say "Stop it's not too late".

It seems small, but it can quickly take away the value and message of your awesome videos.  Not sure if it can be fixed?

Many thanks!

Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy

I was in high frequency automated stock trading for a decade starting in 2000 to 2010.  Crypty now reminds of the young ECNs back then (Archipelago, INET (Now NASDAQ), Instanet, Redi and many more.  They all had the same issues.  The world was turning to onlne trading, automated computerized trading and the infrastructure could not keep up.  Investment, funding , mergers all came into play to save the day.  The alt-coin market, as well as bitcoin remind me today of the internet in 1995.

Coins will need a standard to go by.  This will bring in confidence from the investment community.  I look at sad cases like Diamond crypto currency (DMD).  It forked hard and was left for dead a few weeks ago.  Website died.  People begged on the forums for a fix and someone jumped in and revived it.  Stopped trading on cryptsy until the fix and everything. It's that kind of stuff that takes away confidence from investors.  It places alt coins as if they are otcbb stocks where there is no regulation and no confidence.  If we are to grow, there needs to be a standard that is required before a coin can be launched or listed, period.    Just my opinion.   ;)

Big exchanges and some regulation may not be a negative thing.  Look at it this way:  If there is some form of regulation that allows for funds to sink monies into these coins, that equals more inflows.  Imagine an ETF for these coins or a mutual fund being able to take some ownership?  That would be serious inflows.  Won't happen without some sort of standard out there for these coins.  As bitcoin grows, if it grows, you will see all of these entities wanting to get a piece of the pie.  This could include exchanges similar to NASDAQ who may want to diversify, but that would require more stability or regulation.  I think any and all opportunity is good opportunity.  Also, buy and hold will help make this coin go up.  Moreso than mine and hold.  Mining simply increases the float, but still not a bad thing.    Cryptsy needs seed funding similar to coinbase.  They need to grow infrastructure big time.  I would be surprised if we do not hear that happen soon if they are smart.

I think that there should be a clear pathway briefly explaining HOW you can invest in Goldcoins. Maybe directing them to cryptsy or something.  Better yet, direct them to the goldcoin website.  If I were an outside potential investor, my first question would be the "how".

Question: Does GoldCoin have any Name Trademarks or patents?  Just thinking about the IP side.

In trading terms, it has been a consolidation in my opinion.  I also think we are seeing money slowly move out of the higher priced currencies into the smaller names hoping for the larger returns.  Then add the solid name value Gold gives......

Are you matching your card to these suggested settings?

Also, with regards to your other hardware: I found on my side that I got greater stability upon removing a stick of RAM that was different from the other suggested stick.  It wasn't a matched pair. Little things sometimes.  Good luck!

Sexcoin is proof that name means everything.

The batch of real goldcoins (discussed on this forum) I think needs to be made and then pictures similar to the bitcoin "coins" need to be taken.  I think those would go a long way.

My opinion (Rough notes):

Start with the name and the value of the name GoldCoin.  What it represents to every culture, what physical gold represents as a precious metals investment as a comparison.

Then talk about what is under the hood.  Generally, how does it compare to bitcoin as far as security, speed of transactions and so on. Also, discuss the importance of a good development team and community and what we have.

Lastly, discuss applications where it can be used:
-Investment diversification
-Betting instrument
-Part of the suite of alt coins for payment
-Possible mirror of current gold commodities prices as arbitrage opportunities or hedging?

End it with a nice slogan (GoldCoin, the Gold Standard of Cryptocurrency).

Add: for people to get in while it’s cheap.

I think we are now seeing money shift into the alt coins after this drop.  Alts are starting to pull away from bitcoins performance.   No more beta of 1.
