How-To Guides / Re: GLDCoin: How to Install the Client
« on: June 21, 2013, 07:11:24 PM »
Nice How-To, One thing some people might need to know is.

They can find or make the gldcoin.conf file in their GLDcoin folder by using Run -> then enter -> %appdata%\GLDcoin

Or just enter  %appdata% to pull up a list.

Good advice, thanks!

Neat. If someone could make physical coins, I right now am throwing up a 1000 GLD bonus:). That would be something neat to have.

Technical Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Core Development Thread
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:49:54 PM »
Do we have a list of things that need to be decided? Is it going to be community orientated as to what the features are? Lets get to work :)

Here's a quick list of off the top of my head:

1. How to notify users, pool operators, and exchanges.
2. What exact changes are needed in the code.
3. How to secure a secondary developer as backup?

I've been in touch with a developer, who has no time for this project, but did review the proposed changes made by Hyoshi and feels that the changes proposed are indeed sound.

#1: Buy an email list service like mailchimp or something which allows the first 500 people to sign up for free. You can then secure who signs up and only they will be on the email list and every time you need to send them something you can type one email and it will go to all their emails.

Technical Discussion / Re: New difficulty
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:47:57 PM »
I think the coin had a slower difficulty drop. The reason for that could be because it would be more intense if the coin went from 7 to .7 or something. Maybe there is a limit to how much it can change. Anyway, we'll find out more at block 21,504... A few more days... I just need coinchoose to update.

Nice. Let's definitely use it as the official website, taking the idea behind litecoin.org or bitcoin.org. What is your guys opinion on this, we should try and get it developed quickly.

GoldCoin Discussion / Re: [WANTED] Trusted Moderator Recommendations
« on: June 12, 2013, 12:13:06 PM »
Thanks for all these great nominations.

Once everyone has had a chance to provide input we can begin tabulating the results. I think one of the requirements should be that the identity of the person is known and verified by staff. Once the candidates are narrowed down, we can work out a verification process. On another topic, I see the chart at Cryptsy looks nice.

... looks like a great day for gold.  ;D

I also agree with this microguy. The chosen mods must to a degree verify they are who they are. I look forward to more input and finally the results.

I guess I'll lose some points verifying because I'm 14 and most people wouldn't like a 14 year old managing there forum:). Though I try and act above my age. It is a good day for gld though not a good day for me because I'm trying to purchase 108k on Cryptsy:).

Akumaburn should do a good job...Sting17 is active and more experienced... (based on my opinion of their posts over the last few weeks). Microguy has to work with them, so it's his say.

.. I have nothing against others, but not enough info... Perhaps a small advisory committee might be useful.

I also agree with this Major, I think it needs to be split into a Moderator Group and an Advisory Committee for the coin itself.

Other then me voting myself, I vote for Major if he puts his hand up

I would love to be mod, but I would also put my hand for major if he steps up. However, I am still a little bit worried because I didn't see him for the last week:).

Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Market Price
« on: June 11, 2013, 09:26:56 PM »
Imagine what happens when the difficulty drops. Theoretically, don't quote me, the current hashrate is 10mh/s. 1gh/s was needed to drive it to a difficulty of 7.34. Therefore, when the difficulty drops, mining profitability should go from its current 50% to a staggering 5000%!

I would like to apply for this position. I am not ridiculously experienced with IT stuff or things like that. However, I don't think you need a moderator or someone similar in order to help you with technical things. I think you need one to help you work with GLDCoins and build up the GLDCoin ecosystem while managing various GLDCoin projects. I believe that I am active enough, I can work on GLDCoin for 4+ hours a day, plus I am really interested in helping this coin.

I have the stake in goldcoins for this to be a seriously worthwhile project for me, and I would love to see the price of GLDCoins multiply by 10 times in the next month, and don't plan on selling my stake until it reaches at least 10x the price. I can put some money into this though not too much money, however, I will focus on helping the forums. Let me know anything.

A 900,000k+ 370LTC+ buy-wall has been placed on cryptsy... we may want to use it for some marketing on bitcointalk:).
