At this point I think we have to admit something to ourselves. Everyone here seems to suck at marketing. We are in danger of becoming the Novell Netware of the cryptocoin space. We have the best engineering but the worst marketing skills. It didn't work out well for Novell Netware.
I have heard folks here talk about investors. Most people accuse them of pie in the sky dreaming. I think we should actively look for investors at this point. We have a great coin and a great name. If we get some folks to realize this and buy low now with the intent of marketing we stand a better chance.
As it is, there just doesn't seem to be the funds or leadership in the marketing space. I just don't know. It just feels like Novell Netware all over again to me.
Say we get this video done...what then. Wait for random people to watch it. We need a great website, great video, revenue stream for marketing and real money spent on marketing(Google Ads, etc).
Hell given the nature of all cryptos competing, I wouldn't be opposed to a code change that allows for voting of a certain address to receive 5-10% of all new coins. The person that owns this address can do marketing for the coin. I don't think any one has thought of that as a code implementation.
Each week/month a new vote can be had that will take into account the number of GoldCoins someone has and submit a weighted vote based on that. When all weighted votes are tallied, the winning address will receive 5% of new coins for that week/month to be used for promotion. This will encourage campaigns from people to get this money and transparency to keep and spend it. Also, it would be yet another selling point unique to GoldCoin.
Anyhow, just a thought.
