ASIC thoughts
« on: April 21, 2014, 01:00:15 PM »
So while I was originally fine with the idea of ASICs, I have started to get concerned that if too many set their sites on GLD, it will fall victim to massive selling once the powerful miners are done consuming more profitable coins.  I don't remember the coins set up off hand.  Does anyone remember if the difficulty settings will prevent it from ever becoming the most profitable coin to mine?  All that matters is that it is less profitable to mine than some other coin after all. ; )

This is not a concern as coin output will remain constant regardless of network hashrate. Having a high network hashrate is desirable as it increases network security and stability.

I was thinking we should give one of these away to the next member of the month: http://zoomhash.com/collections/top-sellers/products/batch-8-gridseed-300-400-kh-s-asic-scrypt-sha-miner-ships-from-los-angeles-ships-next-monday
