Nuggetgal has been in contact with Crypt.la they said they would like to write an article about GoldCoin.
It was kind of late notice for him to write about the south African conference before hand.
But he would like to do a follow article, here is a list of questions he sent.
If someone would like to pm me the answers I appreciate.

1) How many people showed up for the conference?
2) What were the highlights from the conference?
3) How can an altcoin stand out in a market where there are nearly 575 coins listed on CoinMarketCap?
4) Does goldcoin have plans to utilize any other coin chains (i.e. Ripple or sidechains)?
5) Do you believe there's room for more than 1 or 2 coins to be around in 50 years?
6) What do you see as the big trends for crypto in 2015?
7) What do you think was the biggest news about crypto in 2014?
8) Where do you predict the price of goldcoin will go next year?

Thanks

1) How many people showed up for the conference?

In the video I watched, there appeared to be a handful of guests in attendance. But this is not a bad thing because the video presentation has value. It can be replayed again and again. The practice and experience of creating a community project also has value.

2) What were the highlights from the conference?

In my view, the practice and experience of creating a community project and seeing its realization.

3) How can an altcoin stand out in a market where there are nearly 575 coins listed on CoinMarketCap?

The consumer is not aware of these 575 coins. The consumer has not yet been fully exposed to cryptocurrencies. The coins that reach the consumer first, will be the ones that succeed.

4) Does goldcoin have plans to utilize any other coin chains (i.e. Ripple or sidechains)?

The new Goldcoin client (to be released "soon") will have the ability to support any coin, in addition to its native chain.

5) Do you believe there's room for more than 1 or 2 coins to be around in 50 years?

In the future, there will be thousands of coins. But just as today there are hundreds or thousands of domain TLD's, there will be but a handful that become globally pervasive.

6) What do you see as the big trends for crypto in 2015?

The propaganda war against Bitcoin by big banks and credit card companies will begin to rage.

7) What do you think was the biggest news about crypto in 2014?

The announcement that PayPal would begin integrating Bitcoin into its payment platform.

8) Where do you predict the price of goldcoin will go next year?

I anticipate the price of Goldcoin reaching $1.00 before the close of 2015.

It was mentioned on bitcointalk.org that Goldcoin will no longer be a fork of BTC or LTC.
If it's true can you give more details. For the article.

I think on some level Goldcoin will always be a descendant of Bitcoin, just as Google is a descendant of AltaVista and others.

My understanding is that Amir has rewritten the Bitcoin codebase to improve its functionality and performance.
