Hello and some questions...

Hello to all here!   

I am glad to find a coin named gold-coin... There are so many crypto coins.. It was difficult to choose one in what I am interested in...

I don't know much about cypto coins and I know nothing about mining them.

Maybe someone can help me a little bit to understand.
I red that mining with the wallet is very inefficient - but  I would like to try, just for fun.
But I am not sure that it works.

My wallet told me it has about 500 Hashes/s, 10 active connections and it's up todate.
But in the debug-log I see for example:
trying connection 178.221.56.76:8121 lastseen=1,8hrs
connection timeout
trying connection 89.152.17.230:8121 lastseen=21,2hrs
connection timeout
trying connection 94.78.177.204:8121 lastseen=69,0hrs
connection timeout

What's wrong? Am I mining or not?

My settings are 4 Threads, Scantime 99. What does this mean and should I change it?

Those timeouts indicate that the node is down, in your configuration file remove those IP addresses and those errors should stop. If you are showing 500khash then you are indeed mining.
