If we are going to remain competitive in the future, I feel the community should help steer the development of features they'd like to see in GoldCoin.  I've been checking out other coins recently and I feel that NXT and Mastercoin seem to represent the best from the development community.  I don't see how DogeCoin can survive long term just being a silly meme and clone of LiteCoin.

I think, somehow this structure needs to offer a way to have opposing opinions on development and community driven goals with the best ideas and even programmers rewarded and pushed to the top. 

We have to remain long term viable and competitive.  We should consider building that into our structure and reward systems at EVERY step.

I'm not sure how to accomplish that.

As an example, apparently Mastercoin is releasing an exchange in March.  It appears Folks will be able to trade a lot of different coins in a decentralized way.  THAT IS AMAZING.  I don't know how to get listed but I feel we BEST get listed on that (perhaps you don't have to).

This brings to mind another thought.  If MasterCoin is successful at this, I would think the next step would be to allow folks to pay someone in one coin and have it arrive to someone else at another coin.  This would be a KILLER feature. 

Anyhow, this is probably in the wrong place but I feel that all discussions of structures should keep raw development talent and features as a/the main goal.

Please move this to a more appropriate location if need be. 

I also feel we should possibly just adopt other coins ideas if they fit well with us.  Let's give GoldCoin users all the reasons in the world to use us.  I don't feel we should be ashamed of this at all as talent borrows but genius steals.  It is the open source way.

I don't think we should adopt the false pride mentality of coins that will refuse to use what is good, sound and beneficial because the idea didn't come from within.  I think long term this will be a mistake.  The coins that adopt the strategy of simply taking the best features (where possible) will survive/thrive longer.  It's similar to how Intel adopted AMDs x86_64 technology.  If they hadn't they would have had a tough time I think.  Every industry does this.
