One thing the community needs to do is organize and continue building a solid support base. I'm not long from retirement age, and this coin is going to be around for the next 100 years and beyond. It's time to get some talented young people on board to support our current development team.
We're also going to need more marketing, a push towards merchant integration, and education for consumers. Carefully study the history of bitcoin, beginning around 2010, and use that as a reference for what must be done. I think also gaining a thorough understanding of the "network effect" and "critical mass" theories would be helpful.
When average consumers finally start using bitcoin, they will automatically (by nature) want new alternatives. We should prepare Goldcoin to be an attractive alternative when that day inevitably arrives.
We are in the right place, at just the right time, to catch this incoming wave of digital currency adoption. We just need to play our powerful hand in the wisest manner.
