hello. new here and to gld as well.
« on: September 17, 2015, 11:47:07 AM »
thought i would stop in and say hello and a bit about myself.

i have only been actively mining for about a year now. so im still pretty new.
i currently have 2 26mh/s gridseed black units and for a while now i have been looking for a new coin to nime. and im it might be a good choice to mine this coin.

i am wondering though what way would be best to mine this coin? in a pool or solo?

if in a pool would get me more coins faster then solo do you know of any currently running mining pools.

thanks for any info you can help me with. and hope everyone is having a great day.

Hello Viper, Here is an up to date list of mining pools. https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=246.0

We always suggest dedicated Goldcoin pools, but you are always free to join a multipool.

Thanks for your interest. Maybe leave your Goldcoin address here, and maybe someone tips you?  ;)

Hello guys.

I'm also looking for the information about mining. I've so far tried pool mining but since I've gone through that before with other coins, I just thought maybe for GLD, I would like to go solo this time. I notice that my newly installed client version 0.7.2 has a built-in mining.
Just wondering is there any configuration to put in before I proceed and start mining?

thanks for the help guys

Another noob question.

How do I configure for it to use my GPU instead of right now CPU?
It's currently showing "2556 hashes per second"  :-\

You will need a big amount of hashing power to think about solo mining, you can use coinwarz.com for example,to calculate your "Chance" to find a block, about the wallet-built-in-mining thing i can not say much because i never used it. Simply mine Goldcoin on a smaller pool and if you want to mine on a multi-pool then make sure that you switched off the "automatic switch to the most profitable coin" because it could happen that the Goldcoin Network detect this as an attack.

You are mining Goldcoin with a CPU ? Thats not effective, and it is more less effective to solo mine goldcoin with a cpu. If You can set up a CPU mining software for goldcoin, then GPU should be no problem for you,  we provide a guide on the homepage for mining, which is easy to find.
