We are proud to announce the latest updated to GoldCoin.

The development team and staff have been working around the clock to make this the very best version to date.

We have addressed a number of issues related to the previous client. The syncing issues and Litecoin upgrade alert have been fixed. In addition, there have been improvements made in the areas of coin generation, block reward, and difficulty retarget time.

There will be a hard-fork at block 45000 which is currently estimated to occur on August 1, 2013. All current users should update their clients at least 24 hours prior to the fork. It is recommended that you backup your current wallet before performing this upgrade.

Yes, a goldcoin.conf file is automatically generated by the installer with optimal settings.

You can actually just go ahead and install the latest version and it will take care of everything.

However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to backup your current wallet. Just copy the file wallet.dat from your /users/(username)/appdata/roaming/gldcoin folder to somewhere safe. Of course if you are importing your wallet, just overwrite the new wallet.dat file with your funded wallet.

I backed up my wallet - shut the program down - ran the installer for the latest version - fired the program up again, 24 hours later, I am still getting the "upgrade to litecoin" blah blah - the Estimated total blocks jumps slowly up to 397490 where it stops (which is what it was stuck on before) with the current number of blocks (at the time of writing) being 42878.

Can you provide the version number reported at the top of the about page (Help > About GoldCoin)?

I downloaded the Windows install from gldcoin.com.  The help-about version says: v0.6.9.3-gc9571b8320-beta.

Mine is working perfectly so far.

You are running the previous version of the client. The latest client is v0.6.9.3.

This is the correct installer: http://gldcoin.com/downloads/goldcoin-0.6.9.3-win32-setup.exe.

After installing, make sure to execute the new program file located in /Program Files (x86)/GoldCoin (GLD)/.

For my random .02, I compiled a 32bit Linux version from git/source which seems to be working just fine thus far...

If there's interest I'll make the binary available, but I would have to assume one of the devs could make a MUCH leaner build then my effortless "make -f makefile.unix".

Previous (original instal) goldcoin-0.6.9.3-win32-setup.exe

Goto the gldcoin.com website and download the windows wallet again which is the 0.6.9.3 and install again over the top of the 0.6.4 install. Backup your wallet.dat file in your roaming folder and your problems will be fixed.
