I was looking at https://cryptothrift.com/ yesterday and followed the link where they mentioned being on Yahoo news. It looks like they used a wire service to disseminate their initial press release.  This is the company they used: http://www.accesswire.com/how_it_works.aspx

Maybe this is something we could do to publicize the new client once it nears beta release.

I think this looks very promising maybe we should check into their pricing.

I registered with them about an hour ago.
They dont seem to have any pricing on there site, so im just waiting for them to get back to me and i will request some pricing. If the pricing is good it could be an excellent way of getting the news out for the new wallet.

That sounds good thanks

Did we ever figure out what this company charges for their services.
I still think this is a great idea I would be willing to pitch in on it if we can figure out the exact cost if it's reasonable.

Here's the latest news on the client from the Facebook Group!  8)

Quote from: Akumaburn
I have some good news.. and some bad news. Good news is that the client is progressing nicely.. bad news is that the GUI's extensive functionality has thrown off my schedule. I now estimate the beta to come out on either October 31st or November 2nd. Essentially 5-7 days later than planned. That being said however.. I'd rather not leave you guys dry. I know you expected a video today.. well I made one for you. Sorry for the delay ;(

I think after this push, Amir needs to see if he can get others to do some of the work.  Honestly he shouldn't even need to work on a gui.  I personally feel it's beneath his talent level.

I can't imagine Satoshi having to spend a minute on a gui design.  I'm sure he did at one point but any time he had to spend on it was a loss for the whole community in my opinion.

Not that it's not very important work with a meaningful effect but it's just not on the level of creating a 51% attack defense, etc.

Excellent points Tads!

One thing's for sure. Akumaburn will know this client inside and out, which will come in handy as he oversees the coming wave of contributing developers.

Now could be GoldCoin's time.  Bitcoin certainly isn't appearing as strong and there is room in this here market for growth of a coin with real development behind it.

The people that thought GoldCoin was a one trick pony, copy-cat clone are in for a rude awakening.

Amir was ill over the weekend which delayed him approximately three days.

We spoke today and he confirmed the new client alpha is nearly ready. He's not sure of an exact date, but promised that it would be any day now.
