"GoldCoin - History of the First Year" Book
« on: February 13, 2016, 06:35:06 PM »
For members of the community who are unaware, I am currently researching/writing a book based on GoldCoin.  I will strive to write an unbiased publication about how GoldCoin began from the 15th of May 2013.  Some may think this is a long time ago, but I think a growing number of people will love to know how things began as time progresses.  A preliminary front cover has already been designed:

I will keep you all updated on this thread as time goes by.  Please support me too.

I'm very much looking forward to the publication of this book. This will become a great resource for everyone interested in Goldcoin.

Please let me know if you ever need anything at all!  :)

At the moment, I have successfully researched GoldCoin from the 15th of May 2013 to the end of October 2013.  In total 48-54 pages in the preliminary stage for months May 2013 to October 2013.  I am very happy with the progress so far  ;D

I would be very grateful if the community could modestly help me financially either through donations or otherwise.  A lot of time, resources and printing costs go into writing books.  Please help.

Thank you.

At the present time, I do not know an exact date of future publication.  I plan to have the book complete by the Spring/Summer time.  It could be earlier than this depending on my own personal circumstances.

Please direct me to the official coin logo design.

I'm not sure if we have an official design. There are three popular logos currently in use.

I think it should ultimately be at the discretion of the writer which of the three logos to use. Perhaps we could take a vote and/or offer submissions for the writer to consider?  I have no objections to any of the three logos being chosen.

When I get some more time, I can reply in this thread with the three logos I mention.

What would be the best way to submit donations? Bitcoin or Paypal?

If you could provide those addresses in this thread it will allow members to donate.

I think the logo on the preliminary front cover looks more glamorous, hence the reason I chose it  ;)

Tyke,

You're welcome, everyone should support ideas & dreams. Doing what one enjoys in this world doesn't come often, not many get a chance to live their dreams & is sometimes fulfilled by seeing others achievements. All to often people talk about the smallest things not changing the world, but "even the smallest effect of life is changed by moments of time & space". A book can not be unwritten, as a movie watcher of all kinds & their scripts all started somewhere.
Applications are creating ways for people around the world to learn, work & innovating the path for the future. Still very few people see what can be built with what is being created here...

I can't wait to read this book and read about all the hijinks of:

The original developer who disappeared.
The original developer who disappeared, then who changed his name and came back and then disappeared.
The Hash Attack, where we were all waiting around for weeks for the difficulty change.
The guy who came to the rescue.
The guy who made a bunch of fancy charts.
The guy who made the android app from that lighter coin app.
The guy who helped the main developer fix some of the problems in the code.
The guy who became the main developer.
The guy who pumped the price up and lost his head, as it were (its a pun).
The hobos who were at that one exchange.

There were so many great memories from that first summer.  Oh man, we could mine profitably with a low end graphics card!

EDIT:  and the Song for the guy at that one exchange.
and the hacker guy that liked the guy who rescued this coin and that hacker was nice to us.   Wow!
