CryptoWoo for Goldcoin in Woocommerce

Let's take a look at the possibility of adapting CryptoWoo for use w/ Goldcoin payments.

I opened a support ticket to inquire about the possibility of using the Goldcoin daemon. They indicated it could be done using the insight API: https://github.com/bitpay/insight-api/

This solution will allow a merchant to accept Goldcoin without the need of a third party.



I guess the first step will be to fork and install the insight API.

I just purchased the CryptoWoo plugin premium version which includes unlimited live installations, development repository, & bleeding-edge features.

Now we just need to get it adapted for Goldcoin. I believe modifying it for use with the coinpayments.net API might be the quickest route. https://www.coinpayments.net/apidoc

Getting insight for Goldcoin requires a server running goldcoind and some changes to the bitcoin insight api.  There is also a block explorer that goes with it. 

While a developer can run it on windows, that is fine for developing and debugging, but eventually it would need to be on a server.

Since Coinpayments can provide each merchant with the needed wallet and has the necessary API, I don't think we'll need Insight after all.

It will just be a matter of adapting Cryptowoo to use the Coinpayments API. For the initial merchant install, the exchange rate functionality can also be stripped since the item will be priced in GLD.
