Help installing goldcoin-qt

I've spend the last 2 days trying to install golcoin-qt... I've bumped into git issues (uninstalling git solved them).....I've bumped into issues with the libdb4.8++-dev, as I had to built Berkeley DB myself as the apt-get wouldn't find these packages.... I've bumped into the issue about the obj folder  (mkdir obj solved it).... I then when I finally get to compile it without further issues when I start ./goldcoin-qt it gives me the error:

EXCEPTION: 11DbException       
Dbc::get: Invalid argument       
goldcoin in Runaway exception   

I'm new to goldcoin, but I'm almost done with it. It's client is almost as difficult as a server to setup. I've had no problem with Bitcoin or Worldcoin clients, but GLD is revealing itself a pain to get started with.

I'd appreciate if anyone could help.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble installing the client.

libdb is not available from sudo apt-get , So you must download it from other sources, Please check the thread that microguy has linked, I had described getting libdb.  Hope it helps.

About libdb package I downloaded db4.8-4.8.30 and compiled it myself, don't remember where I got the tutorial for it though.
