Android App Idea?
« on: June 26, 2013, 05:28:56 PM »
I think once we get past the fork we need to start thinking about creating an android app.

My idea is to create a place on the official website where users can enter the phone number of their smart phone to receive a deposit of let's say 100 Goldcoins in exchange for downloading the app.

Then we'll have all these people with preloaded wallets looking for ways of trading them and using them as money. They might then begin using them for payments to each other for services like grass cutting or babysitting for example. The key is to get the coin into circulation.

If we can get the coin into circulation, the marketplaces will follow.

Just a thought...
If it's possible to get a mobile game developer on board... (not that I know any)
GoldCoin could be hypothetically used as a "premium currency" in online Android/IOS gaming.

Mobile gamers pay real money for truly worthless "in-game" money across hundreds of game titles now.
I wonder if there's a way to make it viable  (i.e. - at least as profitable as "fake" in-game money) for a developer to use GoldCoin instead.  Easy to see where this would be a win for the gamer though, in game money spendable on a variety of games, across multiple developers/titles, and even usable for real world goods!

This is a good idea.  We need salesmen and marketers at this point really and some engineers/programmers to help them implement the new client into the environment.

Here's a look at the new app as it appears on my Samsung Galaxy phone.

Damn that's pretty.

By the way, iced tea has sugar in it and all sugars ferment.  In your last video your iced tea clearly had been sitting around a while.  I think you are in technical violation of your no alcoholic beverages policy.  :P
